i say just turn your SUB down... especially if your ears like the stock sound already... adjust your L7 to complement the stock bose system. Seems to me you just have youe SUB cranked up to the max for no reason...

this option will cost you no more money

But on ther other hand you would have to upgrade your speakers and add an amp to have them compete with the SUB you added... bass is suppose to be felt more than heard...

use your interior speakers for highs and the sub for bass only. you should have no problem with that with the stock system. there is no reason to have any bass in the interior speakers if your running a subwoofer. maybe go to a shop and get it tuned and youll know what i mean,

Well... before I get bombarded by members that will try to protect their Infiniti-Bose Studio on Wheels sound systems... This is to answer the original post's questions. So If you do not agree... then cest la vie. The G is a good car... I like mine. I just don't think much of the overhyped sound system.

luxurycarg37s: You can take your sub out - sell it on craigslist.

Because unless you are a BASS-head [which is sounds like you are not - and enjoy good sound quality] --- it'll be impossible to get quality sound with the setup you have. Sure, you can turn your awesome 12" kicker sub down... but it beats the purpose of having it. Besides, like you said, you trunk so small already to begin with! Now you got wasted room + not to meantion the wasted gas hauling your 50-100lb sub and box and amp around.

I've got the same problem with my 2007 G35s ... I installed a 10" Kicker compVR sub with a 200watt rms Rockford amp a while back... and while the system sounds ok, - my sub drowns out the other freq only when turned up. My sub is probably not as loud as yours. i too looked into upgrading the speakers.... but - lol - GOOD LUCK UPGRADING BOSE SYSTEMS!

My 2007 should be the same as your 08. It actually has 10 speakers total.

front: 1... 3" center channel, 2... tweeters, 2... 3" twiddlers [tweet/mid woofers], 2... 10" woofersback: 2... low profile 6.5" woofers, and 1... 10" subwoofer

Ok - here's the problem. The tweeters are cheap, underpowered. So you try to replace them... then the 3... 3" twiddlers upfront try to help the cheap tweeters and cause shrill sounding, screachy, MiD-highs... while the highs suffer.: ie - High Hat, cymballs - all percussions sound muted and LACK SOUNDSTAGE.Then - they remain using the 3... 3" twiddlers to do the mids --- lol --- 3" paper woofers can't produce quality mids -especially when trying to produce human voices - singing. So the back 2... 6.5 woofers try to help - with no success - all sounds come from front. These woofers fill only. Then - they have the 3... 10" woofers - or subwoofers? - doing the low mids at the same time. I don't know what they were thinking when they designed this system [other than keeping costs down] --- because there really is nothing bridging the Huge GAP between the 3" twiddlers ---to--- the 10" woofers. ... then - 3... 10" woofers -lol- produce only a certain amount of bass. It does sound ok - but bass extension to lower freq are lacking... they just thud - boom and that's it. They sound really crappy for 3 of them. My 1... 10" kicker sub outputs more bass, with more extension than all 3 stock ones. silly.

So I bet you that with your system -when you turn it up - it sounds like all the mids [voices] are missing... while the mid-highs are hurting your ears... and the high-trebble is missing.

Solution: return or sell the sub, box, amp or:try to replace all the Bose speakers -nothing really fits- and impedence matching will be a challenge. You canèt just go with any Alpine, Pioneer, Hertz speakers... youèll have to get it professionally redesigned and reconstructed ... and you will need to replace the head unit - that is if you want to do it properly.

Anyways, good luck - let us know how it goes.

Suby,

In Theory, getting all interior speakers to do the highs and mids only and the back new sub to do bass only sounds like a great idea. It might work.

but - there are only those small 3...3inch twiddlers in front, a pair underpowered tweeters, and a pair of underpowered back speakers in rear doors. The rest of the 3 speakers are large 10inch woofers which are horibble for mids! I guess in essence, the op just replaced his 3stock subs with his new one.hmm... Ok

thanks for the info but i already took it out. there was way to much bass for my liking and even with the gain on the amp all the way down and the bass in the factory eq all the way down it sounded bad for instance cd's and my ipod sounded great but when i put on the radio and just wanted to listenn to a talk show or something of that nature the bass that came out of the speaker was horrible if someone laughed or coughed it all came out in a form of bass which muffled out the talk show and the way the trunk rattled was terrible and not only the trunk but the front licence plate and that area even rattled there was a lot of power going to that speaker i just call it a lesson learned. i should of gotton a smaller box but that would of rattled as well so i will keep my stock radio.
