I just bought pair of Pioneer Speaker set for front and rear. And I put them with stock wires which is 13 years old. Do you guys know how much amp does stock radio has?? My new receiver has 180W, and I'm not sure my stock wires can handle those output. What do you think??? I'd appreciate any information.

i have a sub and 4 speakers up front. I actually have pioneer component speakers in the front too. (by the way if you got the components the tweeters won't fit in the stock locations on S14)

But anyways, they didn't change my wires in my 95 out and it sounds kickin. Really good. If we got the same pioneer speakers you will like them, theyre awseome sounding in my car. Check out my page if you want to see the install.

I had a spool of Rockford Fosgate competetion 16G wire laying around, so I personally went ahead and swapped it out. I would say that if you are not planning on amplifying the speakers, you are fine. Also, not sure if you ahve the Active Speaker system, but I went ahead and yanked out the stck crossovers in the doors as they would not work with my setup.

Depends on if you have the active system, meaning each speaker wire runs from the stock cd player to a small individual amp for each speaker, then to the speaker. If you have those individual amps you will have around 15-20watts RMS, peaking around 50. If you just have the stock cassette/radiom then you'll get even less. The wires are no problem handling such little watts.

unless they were fried before, they'll do just fine, wire is made to take serious electrical abuse....and if not theres a fuse that generally goes before the wire.
