im looking at a FMIC for my corolla and it has a 10.25x10.25x2.75 core what kind of hp is this good to? i think it has 2.25'' in/outlets. i want to make 200-230whp but would like some room if i do more modifications down the road. something good to 300whp would be great.

My question was about the aftermarket intercooler i can get that is a FMIC. and i was refering to the side mount because i beleive it is similar in size. maybe a little smaller?

but i want to have the intercooler be capable of 300whp.

i might want to get one a little larger. maybe longer and not quite as tall? like 20x8x3 or something.

Well the reason that its going to be small is because i dont want to hack up my corolla but i want a decent intercooler. its an actual greddy kit made for the GTS. overall length is i think around 16x10.25.

another problem. without getting an aftermarket bumper cover, there is no air flow through the lower bumper area thats why the greddy it is mounted up tward the grill.

well, if its a real kit and not some sketchy ebay universal core then go for it. it should be fine.

its the real deal ($700 of it all too) it is a Trust core, powdercoated wrinkle blue finish intercooler pipes ect. very nice but pricey.

how well would a small water to air intercooler do on this car? its going to be a weekend warrior/drift car. i might cruise around the streets once in a while and track it a few times a month.

I would get a universal intercooler --something like a Spearco and custom fab your own pipes (if you or someone you knows welds) --Can save a ton of $$

a spearco intercooler would probably delete the cost efficientcy of the intercooler setup. but im open to ideas. i like the water to air idea since it is more compact and i could get a large heat exchanger. i know its probably alot better for drag racing but i am open to idea's. unless the 10x10 greddy kit is good enough?
