Stock roof rack repair.

Anyone know how to remove the horizontal roof bars? Either the bolts that hold them in place on the rails have broke or they were removed by the previous owner. The square nuts are still floating around in the roof rails. How can I reattach them to the nuts? Tired of hearing the bars move around in the wind when i'm on the highway.

There are caps at the front of the rails secured by some Torx screws (T20? I don't remember). Unscrew the screws, pull the caps, and you can slide the roof rack crossbars out.

I got the caps off and the bars off. There isn't anything that holds the bars in place. The square floating nuts that are in the rails look like they're from something else the previous owner had on the roof. There is 5 on each side. How do the bars stay in place on your guys' Pathfinder's?

Nobody ever adjusts the roof racks on their Pathfinder's??
