No harm, no foul! All car guys get old eventually! You'll be where I am someday too. And... it just doesn't matter. We love the cars we have, and the things we do to them. It's all good!bravey_z12 wrote:oh ya forget about the age thing ,we all r car lovers
Your tire compound has more to do with the grip on the road than the width of your tires. You may have gone wider with better dry traction, but you could be doing so at the risk of losing wet traction.Ricko wrote:When I wanted aftermarket rims I wanted two things. 1) better grip on the road! stocks at 8inch wide was ok, but just by the 8.5inch wide, it was the world of difference. thats 2 more inches of tire on the road.
ive got a pair of 18'' SE for saleNissan_luver08 wrote:

And yeah, Ferguson, I totally agree with you on the rim size thing, I really think 18's are enough. When I had my 2000 Altima SE sedan, I had 17's on it and I thought I was the s***, lol...and I am 42 BTW, not to old yet, and Ferg, 55 is not old dood!

Myself, and I'll be open to flames here... 19" rims are not worth doing because the tires are overpriced for that rim size... and 20" rims require tires with an ultra-low profile which leaves you open to rim damage unless you only drive on smooth roads. I also think 20" rims make the AC look like it has 'baby-carriage' tires on it... it just isn't my style... I like to see some sidewall on my tires - then again, I'm an old guy so file my thoughts appropriately!
Yes they do! I watched in amazement as this at my old job got his rims repod. They left his car sitting on 4 cinder blocks... Oddly I didn't see him at the job a few week after that. Oh well I watched those guys take their wheels back in less than 10 minutes.Nissan_luver08 wrote:What do they do if you don't pay? Do you get a complimentary set of cynder blocks when they re-po your wheels/tires?

And, I went out to a local perf./tire/wheel shop, they said they would sell me pretty much any set of 20's with Falken tires for $1450 installed, mounted, balanced, TPMS transferred from current wheels, new lugs and valve stems etc. Plus tax too I hate taxes!
I was looking at some 20inch Momo's and some BOSS 20's. SInce I have a white coupe, I was thinking some black rims with machined lips,
