After looking at finances, rims are out for a little. Im gonna powdercoat my 08 3.5 stock se (sedan) rims black cause my car is black.

Now the question is what you guys thinks looks better on the rim....matte black or gloss. Keep in mind my car is blacked out.....

Also, on another note...with my stock 17's having a 45 offset..... I still wanna do something bout that. What do you guys think....change the tires from 215/55/17 to 225/55/17 for the wider profile..???.....or by spacers to push them out a little...or both???? (Eibach Pro-Kit going on soon along with sway/strut bars)

Also....if i go the spacer route do i need to get the fronts different from the back to make it look right?

PLEASE hook me up with some feedback.....Im a noob to the site and am having problems getting posts on my topics. Thanks :bigthumb:

Usually you want to reduce height (sidewall) account for an increase in treadwidth to avoid changing rolling diameter. But with a change as minor as 215 to 225, you're not going to win. If you stick with a 55 aspect ratio tire, you'll gain half an inch. If you go to a 50 ratio, you'll loose half an inch (of course that's static unloaded diameter).

Honestly, I'd say for the change you want (and the cost of powdercoating and spacers) I'd just get some better wheels. I think your stock wheels are 7 inches wide, which really limits your tire options. And if you get a 7.5 or 8 inch wide wheel, you can also get it with the right offsets from the start. Accompany that with some 245-50-17 or 255-45-17 tires and you'll be set.

Wider tires will clean up fitment at the fenders, but unless you fix the offset you're still going to have a sunken wheel face.

I understand what you mean about just getting new wheels....but that would be almost 1500 bucks prob. I have thought about what you mentioned before tho....i just like the rims that are on the car honestly. Plus i can get them powdercoated 2 layers with 1 year warranty for 50 bucks a pop. Spacers would be $200 tops...and wasnt gonna do the tires until 6 months.

I guess i just wanna know if i get the slightly wider tires with some 10mm spacers will it bring it out enough to give it that semi-aggressive stance im looking for from my family wagon??? Check this out.....courteousy of Long Beach coupe :bigthumb:

3.5 Stock Information 17x7.5 26.3" Diameter +45 offset ---> 215 / 55/ 17. This means, the tire is 215mm wide, the side wall is 55% of the width of the tire (215 x .55 = 11.825cm) ... 11.825cm / 2.54cm per inch = 4.655 inches for each side wall. 4.655 x 2 (two sidewalls)= 9.31 inches + 17 inches (size of wheel) is 26.31 inches.

IMO One thing Nissan really has done right is their wheels. Their lineup of stock wheels from maxima, to altima, to 350z and the G's look great, swapping from platform to platform can yield attractive results. Unlike me I know you have TPMS so that adds to the cost. The 18in maxima rims as seen in my sig were picked up for as little as $250 on craiglsist and they are minty. I would advise getting some 18's and getting them blacked out. Black tends to make wheels look smaller than they really are. If you have the sedan black 17s will look tiny.
