What is stock off set for a vert? My son, who has limited funds can get a set of wheels and tires (Sport Edition A7) with 25 miles on them for $300.00 he wants. I am concerned about the off set, as they came off a Honda. Here are the specs on them. Should he stay away?

Wheel Specs: 15" Wheel Offset: +45mm Backspacing: 5.51" Bolt Pattern: 4-114 Rec. Tire Size: 195/60-15 Weight: 17.0lbs.

Tire Specs: Size: 195/60R15 Blackwall Serv. Desc: 88H UTQG: Treadwear: 400 Traction: A Temperature: A400 A A

I'm pretty sure the offset on the factory wheels are +40. Now, as you probably know, the lower the offset, the further the wheels stick out. In this case, +45 would give the car the "sunken in" look. In most cases its safe to assume that wheels from a Honda won't fit the 240. So I'd advise against getting them. Deals come and go all the time. But, if he REALLY likes those wheels, you could probably get away with buying some spacers.

Well that sucks, he really liked the wheels in the pic. How much is 5 mm in inches? I mean these are too far off to look right?

5mm is about .19 inches. If he REALLY likes them, he could go ahead and pic up some spacers for them. Some 5-10mm spacers should do good. Pics of the wheels?

OK guys, I am kind of in a bind here and need to make a choice as to weather to get them or not by tonight. I was getting these for him for his biorthday present, but today we found that he has two tires with broken belts and bubbles on the side wall. If these wheels and tires won't work, I am going to just get him new tires. He would prefer the wheels and tires if they will look ok.

.19 of an inch does not seem that much to me??? I mean its less then a 1/4 inch! Would it really be that noticeable?

Does anybody have any spacers that they would part with for a decent price? I really did not plan on spending $300.00 for his birthday, so if I need spacers I need to get them as cheap as possible.

1) There are wheels from honda that are 4x114.3 & 5x114.3 (one example is older accords & the s2k, but very high offsets), so don't worry about the advice saying not to get them because they won't fit.

2) the +45mm isn't going to rub anything. I used to run 18x9 +20 wheels (18mm less inside clearance than stock) w/o issue on kyb agx struts & coilovers.

If they are the correct rims (i.e. really x114.3), they will fit your son's car just fine.

That being said, for $300, it's simply not worth it. You can spend just a little more money & get better fitting rims.

There's A LOT of 4-lug rims out now. $300 on stock offset "sport" rims isn't worth it.

Is that your opinion even with the new tires coming with them?

basically what will happen is, they will fit. The bolt pattern is fine. When I said that its safe to assume honda wheels wont fit the 240, I meant that the offset might look really bad. Basically the rear wheels might look sunken in. But its really up to you

From your other post, I thought the 2 of the wheels have broken belts/bubbles on sidewall (unless that's his current rims)?

From my point of view:

- If your son's current ride is in need of new tires like ASAP, and this will end up costing less than buying new tires for his current rims, then ok.

- If your son's current ride can hold out for another 6 months - year of driving, then I would wait - possibly get him something cheaper for his bday & busting out w/ a nicer set of rims & tires for xmas or his next bday.

That's just how I would do it.

The 5mm difference in fitment won't make or break the looks of the car compared to stock. It's when you start getting within 5mm of flushness that things can make or break the looks .

It is his current tires that are that bad. I have decided to just go with new tires and upgrade to 205 over the 195. I have all ready emailed the guy telling him no deal on the wheels.
