we're happy to hlp, but seriously, please try searching first. the answers to all of your questions can be found by reading through some of the older posts... actually, the answer to your quetions can also be found by reading through the FAQ on the A/V welcome screen.
to quickly answer, you have the 2.5S sedan, which means you don't have automatic climate controls. Since you have the manual climate controls, there is a FACTORY OEM TEXTURE double din opening that they make for folks with aftermarket navigation systems. the FAQ has a link to where you can purchase that unit. It has the exact same texture and color as the normal center console, as would be expected of an OEM piece made by NIssan.
The reason you see folks with the non-OEM piece is because those of us with digital climate controls do not have the option of getting an OEM double din console like you do, thus we have to use either the metra or scosche kits.
Again, I'm not yelling at you, its just that I have answered this question at least 20 times over the last 2 yers, and a simple look through old post via the search button, or a read theough the FAQ section would have answered these same questions
And for the record, you can get a pretty darn good Kenwoo unit with GPS that plays dvd's for about $600 .... and even after adding rear view camera, ipod interface cable, and bluetooth, you may still only be out another couple of hundred dollars. Quality stuff is not cheap.... I don't know what units you were talking about where the most expensive ones were $500, but that is not and never has been the case. Actually, units have gotten cheaper over the last 10 years, not more expensive!
