so has anyone else played around with the diagnosis system on the nav? i was looking through the service manual and stumbled on the section on the diagnosis system. pretty interesting stuff. if anyone else wants to play around with it, here is how to get to it.....

1) with the car on turn the audio off. 2) hold the setup button and turn the left knob at least 30 clicks

boom....youre in

what i found really interesting is if you go to the "Vehicle Signals" section there is a "Vehicle Speed" option that is default to "off." now, from the service manual, it looks like you can only change these settings in the "Vehicle Signals" section with the Consult III.

From what it looks like the "Vehicle Speed" off option means vehicle speed = 0km/h. the "Vehicle Speed" on option means vehicle speed > 0km/h. now i dont know if this has anything to do with the VSS which causes the nav system to be locked down when in motion, but if someone has a Consult III or a friend with one, or is really friendly with a technician that has one, its worth a shot.

heres a pic of the service manual to show what im talking about.

You ever try turning that off so you can work the screen when moving? My guess is that it may screw your GPS tracking... but would depend on how often the GPS updates....
