i already tried , so take it easy on me.

just wondering if anyone knows of a wheel that looks identical (or as much as possible) to the stock SE alloy 15", only in a 16/17 maybe 18" application...

i've seen plenty that have that same basic desin, but they're usually random like stock toyota solara rims or something that will never fit.

if anybody can help me out, thanks.

wat about doin a 5lug swap and getting:

1) S14 SE wheels (16")2) Altima wheels (16")3) Z32 Z wheels (16")4) mustang wheels (16-17")

or some cheap, basic looking wheels from http://www.tirerack.com

all of those suggestions are nice; they also have one thing in common: they're not what i'm lookin for. i really have a hard time looking at any rim, and saying "yeah thats what i want it to look like."

even really nice BBS'. GORGEOUS wheels, but my 240 is not the application for it.

basically, the stock alloys look the best of most i've seen. but i'm looking for something to help cure a bit of that fendergap.

lowering the car will fix the fender gap more than larger wheels/tires will.-chet

Exar, I couldn't find a polite way to ask if he was seriously considering increasing tire size, thereby decreasing torque as a side effect of changing the car's effective gear ratio.... I appreciate your response. The tire size increase would have to be significant, because a tire's O.D. increases both upward toward the fender and down toward the ground....meaning any O.D. increase would be divided by 1/2 when measuring a change in fender gap.

I mean, sure..I guess 22" wheels would fill up the fenders.. :P

it would have to be a heinously large wheel/tire combo to noticably affect the actual fender gap pf the vehicle. most of the time a 17" wheels/tire comba looks like its got more fender gap, because its an optical illusion creaded by the larger wheel...

but seriously, if you LIKE the stock wheels, keep them, run a 215-55-15 or 205-55-15 or whatever size you want to run, and lower the car to your liking, its both cheaper, and better than trying to fill the gap with wheel and tire :)-chet

point noted.

im aware of all these solutions, thanks...the fendergap comment was a little useless. let me rephrase:

i do like the look of a bigger wheel, and i wouldnt go too crazy on the sidewall height. i would prefer to maintain a more friendly ride than have a bone-jarring ride (although better traction/handling).

but there arent any wheels u guys know of that have a similar look to the stock alloys, only in a 16/17 diameter?

Honestly, no.What comes close to a factory style are the wheels with somewhat thicker spokes. I'll use the common Volk TE37 as the example. If you thumb through magazines, tirerack.com, or what have you, you'll notice an overwhelming majority of thin-spoke wheels. Also, there's been a great push towards darker finishes and multi-piece wheels that include different finishes(painted spokes with polished outer lip). IMO, the closest thing you'll find to stock is gonna be a very plain(no rivets), very basic 6 spoke design, similar to the look of a Volk or equivalent.

those four examples are quite common...

does anyone mind that they're all too common? maybe not...

IMO:1) 5 Spoke - great for the s14. also requires 5-lug swap.2) Altima wheels - they're just that. altima wheels.3) Z32 wheel - too recognizable. 4) mustang wheels - ditto.

I was looking at a set of Panasport G7s a while back. Wheeloptions.com had them. They looked just like the stock SE alloys but bigger. They where 17x7.5 +35. The offest is a little high, but nothing a 5mm spacer would not fix. You should call them up and see if they still have them. You can find contact info on the website. They are nice guys and I got a set of wheels and tires through them for a pretty good price.

checked out all the wheels on wheeloptions.com, and i'm left with this:

why does everyone have to make wheels that have 5 different textures, 3 different swoops, and like 2 different colors? cant they make a simple looking wheel anymore? look at the AMG wheels, for chrissake. they've been making their rims look like that (the fat 5-spoke) since like 1994. and now that its 2003, i'll never be able to find a wheel that fits the overall style of my 1993 car.
