Hello, I am rebuilding a spare KA motor and I found a rebuld kit that comes with stock pistons, I was wondering if the stock (new) pistons could handle 10-12 psi and about 300-320 HP?I know this is a noob question, and I did search a little bit. What do you guys think?

also here is the kit I am thinking of purchasinghttp://www.importperformanceparts.net/imports/ ... ssan1.html

It's all the way at the bottom of the page. I believe its the very last one. Its either that or I will be getting a gasket set and some forged pistons. But I think the forged pistons are overkill for my goals.

That power level has been done with stock pistons. If your gonna build it anyway why put the effort in and go cheap with stock pistons?

what do the stock pistons max out at. If they will handle 15 - 18 psi and about 375 hp then I dont see why I would pay for aftermarket.

im very interested myself. i would like to do the exact same thing

my question is:

on that link you provided with the engine rebuild kit, i noticed it didnt include sleeves.

would the old sleeves be ok after a rebuild?

also, they sell oversized pistons, does that mean its ok to bore out the old sleeves? or should i get new sleeves to bore?

is there anything i should do to the crank?

There are no sleeves in most nissan steel blocks bore and your good to go. I think darton makes sleeves for a rb26 but you have to do some major machiening to implant sleeves into a solid block. Somone correct me if im wrong as im not an engine builder.

no they arnt sleeved because they are solid so they dont need sleeves. but the sr20's are sleeved becaue they are alluminum bolck with steel sleeves. and the ka is solid cast iron block so they would not need them.
