Im not too sure if it's been talked about before but I was wondering if there are any mods that we can do to make the air flow a little better or open more HP for these engines? I have a complete spare intake sitting on my bench at home and was going to experiment with porting and polishing. I already have a larger TB on and I can't really think of anything else.

DJ, I was going to get mine extrude honed and port match the KA 60mm TB to the Ca mannie. I wanna see if I can gain a couple whp with it, at least 6-10whp i hope.

I just took a dremel to it, since it's only aluminum and bored it out myself. I did it when I first recieved my engine so I couldnt say if there's a noticible difference between the CA and KA TB. But with that being the only mod, besides a port and polish, and a few other small things, I can smack another local CA18DET in the city here (not you Mike =p). So I would have to say that there is a difference.

I just checked the prices on extrude honing and they have gone up REDICULOUSLY since I last checked. Apparently demand is high and supply is low. Man I hate it when that happens...

Anyway, I'm looking to pick up another intake mani for just that reason. Plus I kinda fubared mine up and I want to start from scratch.

How well did the dremel work? I don't have any air tools/compressor so I was hoping to use my dremel as well.

i dremmeled mine out, i just got one of those multi-purpose bits that kinda look like a drill bit and used that, i am going to go back over it with one of those sanding drums to smooth it out. just make sure you get all of the metal shavings out, i would recomend taking off the plenum from the lower part of the manifold as there are a LOT of shavings after doing this. (i can't remember who it was that wastalking about ding it with the manifold on the car, but i really wouldn't recomend it.)

Hey float, I have an extra manifold sitting around. Do you still need it?
