The stock air intake begins on the drivers side of the engine, goes over the (VERY HOT) radiator, gets heated up, and ends at the intake manifold. So do most of the CAI kits for the NA 240SX. My concern is: Woulnd't it make more sense if the intake box was position where the battery is (alogn with the resonator which one takes out later anyway), and the battery and windwasherfluid tank be on the drivers side? I have relocated my battery to the trunk (more space in engine bay and better weight distribution), and am planning to put the windwasher fluid tank where the resonator used to be (extending the hoses, etc). Then making a hole where the battery used to be and guiding my future intake piping through it, to receive really COLD air which does not get warmed up before it is sucked into the motor. Has anyone done this before? Any tips/things to avoid? Is this a reasonable modification?Any input is appreciated.
