usually the crank pulley markings will be -5 0 5 10 15 20 if you're looking at the pulley (0 will usually be different colored and move in increments of 5 degrees per mark).

I believe it is actually 18 BTDC

It should be true because my Hood has a sticker, and it says

18 BTDC.

Ka24de

I messed up my time when I got the car so here's what I did.

1. If you car is off a little from 18 or even 15 BTDC.

2. Loosen the 3 Dizzy bolts and turn it clockwise, or counter.

3. Use timing gun, hook the signal Clip to the #1 ignition Wire.

The mark on the Crank pulley should line up with the indicator Needle on the Block.

15 to 20 should be Okay. 18 is Stoich.

4. If the Mark is way off and you can't turn the Dizzy anymore, you must redo the timing.

REDO TIMING:

1. Take out the SPark plug #1

** Take out the Dizzy **

2. Put masking tape over spark plug #1 HOLE.3. Manually Turn the Crank with a breaker bar and socket. Clockwise4. Turn the crank until you feel pressure building and the Masking tape POPS off.

(doing so will indicate the Compression Stoke.)

5. Once you feel pressure and the tape has popped off, slowly the Crank so it lines up with the timing mark Zero (0).

**insert the Dizzy back, and make sure that the Dizzy is pointing up (the Notched hole should be pointing up)

*** The Rotor Must be pointed to Coil Wire #1 *** on the Dizzy.

You're done, adjust left or right and Tighten Dizzy.

It's 15 for the E, 18 for DE.
