stock higher comp early 89 single cams

Today i was at my weekly car meet and my friend told me that the single cams manufactured before february of 89 have higher compression and about 150 horse power. Can anyone confirm this? He found this online idk where and i have friends who tell stories of there stock single cams being pretty quick.Can anyone confirm this? If its true then ima keep my single cam for sure

I think i remember reading in the fsm or a chiltons that the 89s had higher compression or vice versa nd had like 5 more hp or so.... doubt you'd really notice a difference.

honestly my friend just picked up a 90 hatch with a 5spd single cam and mines the higher comp auto single and my car has way stronger of a pull than his its def noticable and nice to know ty guys for confirming
