stock fuel gauge off calibration

I filled up a full take earlier and my needle only shows 3/4th full.....How do I calibrate this?

all are off abit? is it the jdm cluster or american? mine stayed just a hair above 3/4 full before and after swap

There is a little slider thing in the fuel tank that dictates what the gauge reads out which is probably stuck. Sorry if that isn't specific enough, it's the best way I can describe it.
