i have emance chipped ecu for z32 maf/ dsm 450cc injectors/walboro fuel pump etc. im running 12lbs boost on factory turbo too.

should fuel pressure still be 36psi w/ vacuum line unhooked? i set fpr w/vac still hooked up to 36psi. when i start car it idles @ 29psi

car still runs rich and blows soot on shop floor...maybe he chipped it to run a little rich idk

motor has brand new everything on it so i know thats not the problem.

36 psi with the engine OFF and the hose unhooked. If you do it running, then you set it too high. Follow my writeup in the FAQ.

the write-up is good, but its a lot easier to just start the car and adjust the fuel pressure to 28psi at idle IMO..thats what i did and it works fine.

thats how i did it. i actually have your writeup pinned on a board in my shop

i just thought that it wasnt enough with my mods. it was reading 40psi when i first started car after 2 months...weird, because i had it set before, but ive done alot of new grounds and put in fresh battery, freshly built alternator etc. im thinking my kinetik battery... which got a bad cell wasnt allowing proper voltage to fuel pump

the FPR (adjustable or not) is set mechanically, and so long as the fuel pressure is not so high as to be beyond the FPR's ability to regulate (say, a tired old stock FPR combined with a 255lph high flow walbro) or below the set value (can't raise it on it's own) then it should stay constant.

voltage levels should have no effect. you may wish to put some low strength loctite on the adjustment nuts just so that you can be sure its not just vibrating itself to another setting. I had to do that myself ...
