my cometics giving me too many problems and now im leaking oil into cylinder one, with 120 for the compression test. im wanting to just swap in a new felpro to get rid of the metal headgasket problems.

is it safe to use the stock sized (89mm) Felpro headgasket on a KA thats been overbored to 89.5mm bore?

no! its not safe..the reason your having issues with your multilayor is you no longer have a smooth flat serface...insted of the felpro crap..get your self a like .40mm copper headgasket and some sealer...you may be requierd to get meatal orings installd into your block..but you will never have a head gasket issue again..and a bonus..the copper gasket is reusable...even if the serface is slightly pited or uneven the copper gasket will seal it up...SCE makes the best ones..good luck

the head and the block have both been resurfaced.

ive read MULTIPLE threads where people have a Felpro HG with an overbore.

Ive heard that these aftermarket gaskets will only work with a perfectly smooth surface. If you dont tell your machine shop they will machine it and leave it with a slight texture to it, assuming your using a stock gasket that relies on that texture to help hold in place. Might be something too look into?

In case anyone ever searches this here some FYI for you.

This is confirmed in my KA24DE Head Build video as well.

240sx KA24DE Fel-Pro Head Gaskets - Cylinder Holes measure just over 90mm

So if you have a .020 bored block you will be fine using these possably even .040 bored blocks (90mm)- if you go to .040 bored you "might" have a slight over hang of the gasket onto the cylinder walls - I know no facts nor have I ever heard/seen any facts that you will have issues with this though so....
