if I put a stock ka exhaust on my sr, will it make the turbo run to hot. I just need to run it this was for a few hours to get to the police station and back. I dont want to put the turbo in any danger.

Thanx Erban

If its a S14, i hear the exaust is plenty fine to run with a stock SR. Even if its a S13, you wont damage anthing if its just temporary.

with the stock exhaust bolted on, you'll just notice a decrease in overall power. There's more backpressure acting against the turbo, so it'll spool slower

yeah. in fact, the best exhaust for a turbo car would be no exhaust. the turbo creates enough backpressure that an exhaust is just added restriction.

Won't it burn the valves to run it from the header?

Probably not with the turbo in place. I would run it with a downpipe, but the **** is LOUD. Well at least is was too loud to drive around town.

that's the reason we use exhausts on turbos, S14. In a perfect world, the best exhaust would be no exhaust, but we have to worry about preventing mechanical failures like that

Guys these ka stock exhaust are the same as the stock exhaust that comes on 180s and silvias in japan. Stock exhaust isn't going to kill the turbo so easily...it'll take many years to damage a turbo with stock exhaust.

Do the exhaust sensors have to be hooked up for the car to drive? and...Does anybody know where I can buy a 3" muffler?

Thanks Nathan. Ok, here is my plan, I'm just going to strait pipe my Sr, but I'm looking for a tip/muffler for the noise control. How loud is the sr just strait piped? Can I get away with it in a toen full of 4x4 with glass packs? or is it ridiculious loud?
