Yo man, I say just save up and get a circuit sports dual tip, its only like $400 on FRSport.com, I believe. Its not worth getting a used stock exhaust, unless you really want it to be quiet.

Spend $150 and have a muffler shop put on a stock style system. I can't even imagine spending much more than that for a non-performance system.

most ppl will just give you a stock 240 exhaust.but at most you should only be spending 30 or so bucks on a 15+year old used one

Why would you want a stock exhaust? At least get something aftermarket that's quiet instead.

HKS Hi Power or HKS Silent Hi Power. I have the regular one and it sounded great on my stock DE with intake. Nice deep tone that wasn't raspy at all. Over 3500 rpm it gets a little louder, but stay under that and you're fine.

Well, if I had to be super quiet, I'd build my own. I'd start off with 2.25" piping (2.5 if turbo) a huge resonator or maybe two if it needed to be even quieter. Then a big quiet muffler. That's really it. I'd run a high flow cat too.

What is the need for being so quiet? A 240sx isn't a lincoln. The quietest I would go would probably be BRM which is what I plan on getting if I have enough $$$. Otherwise, I'll have a muffler shop custom make one.

I'm not sure what you know, but I own a BRM exhaust and it's FAR from quiet

Well, BRM is considered quiet for aftermarket. Your buddy probably had a model with a shorter resonator which would have made a difference in the noise. If you guys define the word "quiet" as stock, then hardly any aftermarket exhausts will be "quiet." I just don't see the point of putting such a quiet exhaust on a 240sx. As I said earlier, it's not a lincoln or something.

Idk, with a car like this which most people base on performance, I want to hear my exhaust. If I didn't I wouldn't really want a 240sx.
