What is the diameter of the stock piping on an s13 from the cat-back? I've been looking, but I can't find it anywhere.

I don't think so, someone told me that the "downpipe" I guess you could call it from the header to the cat is usually larger than the stock piping. Someone told me its usually around 3".

Don't quote me, but I looked under my car the other day trying to find what bolt was loose on my new exhaust, and the "downpipe" is pretty large.

Nick.

hey nis,

do you have the SOHC or DOHC motor? I know on my DOHC S14 the stock piping is 2.25", can't see why it would be different on the s13 DOHC motor, considering they are the same motor/transmission combo. I could be mistaken for your s13, but I am sure its 2.25" on the s14

hope I didn't confuse y'all

I have a `93 DOHC, so I'm pretty sure it should be the same as the s14 right? 2.25"

Makes sense to me, but I would either run a search, check other forums or ask around. Sorry, but I don't know much about the s13, but we have the exact same engine and transmission (pretty much) and our HP is the same, so I figure piping is the same. Why do you want to know, upgrading? If so, go for 2.5" piping for a N/A application, if you are turbo, you'll want something wider. I didn't want to be too loud, so I kept the stock width, 2.25" and the resonator muffler. Got minimal gains with a free flow muffler and intake, and I think I may have actually lost low end torque. Either that, or my clutch is slipping real bad!

hope that helps a little
