Are they tubular or cast? I thought they were tubular but im having someone tell me they are cast, which would make hacking them up for certain devious projects tough.

1989 VH45 are definitely tubular. Well mine were.

my '90 headers were tubular ss welded onto cast flanges.ask me how i know they're ss (hint: ask how many sawzall blades it took to cut thru one work hardened pipe).

The runners are tubular, the cast part is just the pre-cat.

Smack the pre-cat with a 5lbs hand sledge a few times near the runner and it will break right off without damaging the runner( assuming you don't hit the runner directly),.

EDIT: It will leave a little material from the pre-cat at the weld which will need to be ground down.

lol i forgot about that...i did a pretty good planet of the apes immitation a few times getting the headers apart.
