This seems to be a fairly common setup in the KAT community. My current setup right now is the above 72lbs injectors waiting on SAFCII and Wideband. I have ordered the SAFCII and Zeitronix wideband all this stuff should be in this week. I am not sure what I need to do when this stuff comes in. I read a lot about 5 in 5 out and 2 in and 6 out and etc. I really don`t know what that is and what I need to make mine work. also not sure the AF range goals I need to shoot for.

My problems I want to fix using this setup.1. Open BOV (backfire and stumble after dec)2 Stalls at stop lights3 Drivability4 Performance

If you have some experience I would appreciate some input. Thanks

robert how is the dec. air when boosting? does it still stall out? or is it flowing too much air to stumble

It only stalls when trying to stop. It stumbles when you let off the gas when you start spooling up.

The SAFC will solve your concerns. All your answers have to be answered once you get the SAFC. They all depend on the readings you get from your car. The 5in 5 out or whatever you read are the sensor calibrations for the SAFC that will make your car run alright. There are many variations and some work for some cars, and others for others. Basically, you have to install the thing first, and then get the settings (Dec. Air and the such included). But when it is installed I'll be more than happy to share my experiences with it. BTW, I'm not sure if you've got a JWT ecu, but if you don't the SAFC will allow you to run the z32 MAF.

Yes I am running JWT ECU. The 5in and 5out is configured on the SAFCII I don`t have to change wires to make that work? Yes I know I have to install it I just wanted to know what setup to try first.

The only reason that I say install first is that before my z32 maf I ran 4in and 4 out. I believe some ran 4in 5out. Aftre the Z32 maf I run 2in 4out. And there are yet more combinations with that. All I am sayingis that each car can vary a little, so test when its installed.

I have no experience with this whatsoever, but if my understanding of the # in / # out is correct, would seabrooke need the same in and out since his ECU is already programmed for the Z32 MAF and larger injectors?

Youre not using the SAFC to correct for a different MAF and larger injectors. Its to fine tune a setup the ECU considers 'stock' (a setup its already programmed to handle).

If I'm way in left field, tell me and I'll shut up...

correct. With the ecu tuned for the z32 MAF your #'s would be the same as running the stock MAF (i.e. 4in 4out,4in 5out,5in 5out, etc...)

wouldnt it be the same as what the z32 guys are running on their safc's? i think its hw-1 or hw-2.

The JWT ecu is retuned to read the z32 as the stock MAF. For that reason, the in and out settings would be the same as if you put tha SAFC and ran the stock MAF.

So what are these #'s we are looking for? the airflow %? if so, what should they be reading at?

For dec air you need to check what your throttle % is at 1600rpm. Then use that as your throttle point. Then check your % at 1000 and just above that s your first ne point. the second ne point is set at just below the % at 1600 rpm. Holding the car in those rpms can be tricky.

Ok today in the HOT HUMID Alabama weather I finally finish wiring the SAFCII and the Zeitronix wideband! I set the settings to 5 in and 5out. I also set the AF corrections to +50% at idle which gave me around 14.7 to 15.1 AF reading at 750rpms. So much for the JWT Tuned ECU. Nothing else is changed. The car now will idle but when driving around it still wants to stall out at a stop light. So I am wondering if the 5 in and 5 out is working and I have more tuning or I need to change the settings?
