Seems like most everyone is out of stock on the exhaust i want so my question is... do i run the stock downpipe with the stock exhaust or the greddy downpipe with the stock exhaust?

On one side i see an exhaust with the same diamerter having more linear flow but then a stock DP might be more restrictive than the stock exhaust so there could be benifits from the 3 inch...

Any input?

Well......seeing that this is a retarded question that you put no actual brain cells to work or any thought into it.... there would be the reason no one answered it except for me cause I like to make fun of stupid posts. I now feel stupider after reading your post.

let me break it down again for the mentally challanged...

Which is the better plan (Both with stock cat and exh.)

stock DP +stock exh.Greddy DP + stock exh.

it is of course temporary untill mine gets to my house. But sence it's still on backorder....

I guess i'll expalins still even more. When you upgrade an exhaust you should do it from the rear forward. A 3 inch downpipe will flow more than the stock one (which mojo aparenltly thinks i don't realize) However right after that downpipe all those gasses will SLAM into the tiny cat. So i'm thinkin' of using the stock DP. I was looking for arguments from the other side. IE the stock downpipe is so restrictive that the reduction from 3 inch to the car would still produce more power than having the stock DP.

You realize you can't bolt a 2.25 inch pipe to a 3 inch pipe. Kinda like how a big triangle doesn't fit inside the small square on the fisher price work benches.

Run an open exhaust after your downpipe if you can't your catback in time b/c why spend the money getting a flange made to bolt your exhaust to a 3 inch downpipe.

it bolts to the cat. Not to the 2.25 inch pipe. They look compatible to me...

OK yah... i just went and measured it... they will bolt togather.

you have obviously never looked at your exaust system and have never put any research into exaust parts, because the stock cat is infact 3" in diameter AND all aftermarket SR bolt on downpipes will, in fact, bolt on :rolleyes

you will probably get the same amount of flow out of each. An exaust wont flow more than the bottle-neck that restricts it.

I have the greddy 3 in dp to a stock cat I just installed (took out the HT test pipe for emissions) to a 2.5 in apexi exhaust. It all bolted together fine.

Just bolt the stock downpipe in there...or run the Greddy open (or into the cat and open after that...might be a bit quieter). There is really no point bolting a 3" DP to stock exhaust; unless you are missing the stock DP. Just buy the full exhaust system and do all of it all and save yourself from having to get under the car twice.

BTW what exhaust are you looking for anyway?~Brendan

Blitz NUR spec.

I want to use the stock one because noone has the blitz one right now and i don't just wanna run it open. It's my daily driver so i don't really wanna pull into the bank parking lot with just a down pipe

Running an open dp (which I did for a couple of days) is loud as he11. REALLY LOUD!

I don't understand the question though? Just get your 3in dp on run the stock cat and exhaust untill your Blitz comes in. What's so difficult about that decision?

Sorry 'bout that I wasn't trying to misinform. That seems really wierd to me. The only exhaust I have swapped was on a friend's Dodge Stealth R/T and the the stock downpipe would not bolt to the catco 3" cat. Didn't realize that it all lined up on our cars. When I took my exhaust off it came off with a Sawzal, so I didn't really look if it would fit.

I'd rather run an open exhaust than have the restrictive stock piping on there anyways, but hey cops don't give a **** where I live.

My thought was that with the stock exhaust still inplace the 3 inch DP might actuially decrease flow. Turns out however that the cat is big enough to almost match the DP so my answer has presented itself.

3inch DP
