My stock downpipe is the lowest thing on my car. It hits the ground often and I believe that's the reason my exhaust manifold studs have been breaking. I would like to purchase a downpipe that tucks above the frame rails.

like so. I think its a PSM one.

Search brought me to companies like PSM, Circuit Sports, DMAX, and Moonface. All make similar tucking downpipes, but all are one piece w/ a turbo elbow (I'm rockin' a sohc). except Moonface. Moonface offers an optional downpipe without the elbow... but costs $400.

Are there any other options I'm missing, or am I going to have to "pay-to-play"?

Drive to an exhaust shop and have yours modified. That's what I had to do with mine. Took all of like 45 minutes for the guy to cut and re-weld it.

Exactly what this gentlemen said above. Cut a piece out. Weld. Shorter. NEAT.

I need a down pipe also, the junk yards around here cut them out for some reason
