Anybody know how the stock cooling system holds up to big boost (i.e. big heat). I have a 2300cfm electric fan, but i want to know if i should switch to an aluminum racing radiator once i start making about 280-300whp. Anyone have any experience with this matter?

I'll tell you in 6 weeks...you can also use some of that redline water wetter and it'll help a bit.

Why don't you tap a water temperature sensor ? It will tell you :)I don't think you should worry about it... unless you are making 1000hp, and revving 6000rpm for enduring test.. :D

I was having terrible times with overheating, until I changed plugs and tweaked my timing. Im running the stock electric fan which is on all the time when the key is ON and the stock clutch fan, no shroud. I did find out though, doing 130 for about 10miles makes it warm up a bit. Once my EGTs were down, I run right at 210 and only see higher when Im coming back down the return line at the dragstrip. Im going to be pushing more boost this weekend looking for 12's, Ill let you know how it goes.

Already did. :)

My coolant temps are fine stock, i was just wondering at what power level the stock system would become inadequate.

I think your oil will get too hot before you water temperature will.Water/Coolant boil when it reach 100c but your oil won't.If you are not tracking racing, I won't worry about it. And of course, you want a turbo timer after a "spiritual" run before shut down your motor.

I remember I read somewhere that tuner in Australia have trouble with cooling system on RB26, majorly oil cooling problem, when they get the motor to over 1000hp. I don't see why our motor can't handle 600hp heat.

I have seen the stock radiator and crank fan handle 500rwhp. It just heats up really quick.
