Does the stock Clutch fan on the 89 240's push or pull air threw the radiator?
I'm trying to figure out which way to run my electric fan...

Is this a serious question?
They pull the air through the radiator, how would it work efficiently as a push fan from where it is?
Do I need to explain this further?

I'm just making sure..... rather be 100% than 62%, I more new it was pull because of the distance but you never know crazier things do happen.....

I just got my mishimoto radiator, and picked up one of there 12" fans from my friend for dirt cheap, oh and the fan was destroyed during the rebuild so hey, less parasitic drag and alittle more go!

:wtf2:

Cars move forward. The fan is behind the radiator. This is how you should know that it pulls.

WTF are you on about with this "distance" crap?

Also, the switch is a dumb idea. You're gonna forget to turn it off one time and end up destroying your battery. Hook it up the right way.

pushing air from the fan would be kinda stupid because the stock fan is too far to push the air threw the radiator with enough force to do anything... i knew this but just wanted to be 100% sure
and as far as my switch...... The Fan Is F-ING Loud theres no possible way of forgeting the damn thing is on haha, it sounds like a truck on full blast, And i do have a thermal switch i just dont like how late it turns on so the switch is temporary until i get a new shinny adjustable one :)

On another note would there be any benifit for running a smaller 2nd fan as a push fan to move the hot air from the engine bay or would this just not help?

There is no such thing as a fan that pushes air through a radiator against the flow of air going through on the other side. Air only enters through the front it doesn't exit. So, I'm not sure where you got the idea that a rad fan is supposed to push air out the front of the radiatior.

Dont they sell pusher fans that go infront of the radiator? I think the idea was to make the engine bay look more roomier.

edit*

Here I found some

http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=radiat ... rom=&_ipg=

The only negative thing I can think about this is that it wont be able to push as much air as a puller fan. But it does make the engine bay look cleaner

Yes. but, the air is still being pushed in the direction that it is supposed to go.

I guess you're no better than a Honda owner then? :gotme
I hope you plan to at least learn the basics on how a car works before modifying it.

Best of luck.

Oh wow. Dude, if you know the stock orientation of the clutchfan is 'behind' the radiator, why would you ask this question? I don't know of ANY fans that push air through the radiator from behind (thus counteracting the natural airflow while in motion) ... seems a bit inefficient, right? This makes me worry ... please stay away from my car. ;)

I did, and it still makes me worry. Is this supposed to explain that you knew the answer prior to asking this question? In that case, you should have educated the Honda owner and never have asked this question here. I'm not being rude, just really confused as to your objective here. :gotme
