ummm yeah...is that normal?? i have no boost control or jank like that...so i borrowed my brother-in-law's boost gauge and hooked it up to the plenum where the canister purge should hook up to (i removed the can a while back)....when i gas it it would read the vacuum then when i go full throttle and let it hit fuel cut it would read about 1.5 kg/cm^2 which converts to 20+ Psi....ummm is that normal for stock CA setup and is that why i hit fuel cut?

Holy crap, you're lucky you haven't popped a piston doing that. You either don't have the wastegate line hooked up, or your wastegate is broken.

I don't even know how you can cram 20psi through the stock turbo..

PLEASE dont drive your car. More than likely your wastegate is stuck closed or broken. Check your wastegate and make sure it opens and cleses( you can do this by hand) and make sure the hose is hooked up to the wastegate.

All I can think is try another gauge? (You should have one permanently mounted anyway) With proper fueling and a standalone, the max boost I can make (wastegate disconnected) on a SR T25 is 19psi, and that's spike boost.

Good point, I was wondering if the t25 could even make 20 psi. Possibly its a bad gauge.

I think it'll do it with an SSAC mani and 3"turbo back. It won't do it for very long, but it'll do it. I'm currently running a 2 bar MAPS so I can't test it out.

i sorta figured that....me being a noob on a turbo engine....actually on engines as a whole....but i noticed the lil arm wasnt rockin when i boost like what i see on videos...and holy crap is right...cuz i havent rebuilt the pistons or anything with the main block

ty for the inputs...im not gonna drive it till i get that fixed

and for the 20psi being crammed in a stock turbo....it was pretty crazy because shifting gears while i turned made my rear wheels peel out and lose control for a lil bit

as for the gauge...its accurate...its a blitz...but heres the story how i figured it

i had my friend sit in passenger to watch the boost and when it hits fuel cut or i shift he said it would jump to the last line which was 1.5kg/cm^2....he said the only time it didnt boost that high was 4th-5th gear...it went 1.1 >_< which is still like 15psi amirite?

anyways should i rememdy this by fixin the wastegate (this thing is internal wastegate right?) , getting my own boost gauge, and a boost controller?

ok the gold colour round cylinder in the top right corner is the waste gate actuator and should have a small hosing run off it. This line needs to run to (plenum is best) some where sum boost pressure (can be a simple link to the out let out the turbos compressor housing).

If you direct link to boost pressure you will get what i call actuator boost pressure BASICALLY minium controlled boost the turbo can make (what the actuator is set to)

If the actuator is not connected to anything you will get the maxium boost the turbo will hold and std garrets seem to be about 19-20psi peak.

To control boost between these to level it a simple manner of connect the line to boost pressure but using a bleed valve or electronic soleniod, you simple bleed sum of the boost pressure away from the actuator. Thus control the weight(strength) applied the waste gate actuator.

peteps your problem could be as simple a split line in the current actuator control lines.

You're gonna trash that turbo and/or your engine if you keep that up. And you guys are right, he's just spking it and barely. The turbo will eventually start whining and smoking soon. Turn the boost down, bro.......

If the wastegate or wastegate actuator is actually broken. a boost gauge and boost controller won't do anything.

Check the actuator first.

the wastegate is internal to the turbo, but the actuator is external as was pointed out in the picture, it's the brass/gold colored thinging with a rod sticking out of it and should have a vacuum/boost line running from it to someplace with vacuum/boost (mine is connected straight to the stock turbo's nipple on the outlet)

if the wastegate itself is broke, fixing might not be possible depending on whats wrong (its a pretty simple mechanism).. it may be the actuator thats broke..
