I was wondering if a ECU tune was done on a RB26 how much power and how much boost can the stock turbos can handle

I believe that it's either 1.1 bar or 1.2

I was just told that the R34 motor in the R32 I'm getting is set to 1.1BAR and they just dyno'd it at 369 at the wheels on all stock internals.

But stock settings on the boost is about .7 BAR

I had heard that the R34 motor replaced the ceramic turbos with steel-finned ones. That wrong?

nissan replaced them with ball-bearing turbines and a different cam profile. the idea was to keep the same hp level but increase the tq to offset the increase in weight. the r34 tubines spooled faster, but they were still ceramic. factory boost was still 0.7 bar with a recommended limit of 1.1 or 1.2. not sure on the Nur spec R34's.

Ah. excellent, thanks.

So, 1.1 would be a good, safe top setting, then?

that would be just fine. i rolled around for 3 1/2 years with that setting and never had a problem.

Sweetness.

Cuz the guy told me that they dyno'd it at 1.1BAR and got 369 HP at the wheels. I can live with that. (for a while...but it's more than my friend's GTO, so it's good enough)
