The RB20DET boosted ~10psi stock. I won't speculate about other motors.

Yeah... mine showed 10 on the trial run... and that was at fairly low revs too!!! Just some additional info...

Ihave run my rb25 turbo at 1 bar its fine you might need a restrictor inthe line that goes from to your actuator they can be tricky buggers a mate has a simialr problem to day night try a manual bleed with a restrictor b4 you ditch your turbo also check you boost gauge for accuracy.meggala

quite a few peopel here hiflow the stock turbo with great results but a t3/4 from your area would be good or you could go the whole hog for a t 4 which are great jsut dont forget the fuel system

I think that is basically what a fuel cut defenser (FCD) does correct? I thought you needed to get one to allow raised boost levels so you don't hit fuel cut? I think it sends an electronic signal so the car thinks its running stock boost, when in fact, it is boosting more. I do not know of any boost controller that came with this option though. I think it is something you attach to the ECU.

Just an idea

Anyways, I love your cars Night and Meggala

Correct me if i'm wrong... but I think the fuel cut is beyond the limits of the factory ceramic turbo. I'm going with a new comp before I get another turbo, so i'm not even going to mess with a FCD. I bet it's awesome being able to turn the your MKIV up to 17psi on stock turbos!

and FCD just tricks the computer, but it doesn't raise boost.

I know, thats what I meant :) . But don't you need something like that before you raise the boost?

yup :0) i'm sure you can trick a sensor though without having to buy a 200$ box.

Maybe the FCD is more expensive for other cars; I'm not sure. But the one for the Supra/Mr2 was 100 from greddy new, and I just bought one used for $40.

You can also do a Free FCD (FFCD) mod. Here is one way for the supra: http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/ffcd/freefcd.htm. I know there is another way too. My friend made his for his mr2 a different way.
