Yes, but HKS makes the worst BOV's on the planet, unless you like leaky crap that's only good at making noise. Are you trying to change BOV's because you want to run more boost than the stock one can take, or do you want the super cool noise?

^ what he said...course i run the hks racing type 2 valve on my car but thats a totally different beast compared to the ssqv.i am a fan of the apexi valves, they work wonderfuly and sound good.

I've got the greddy type R on mine right now. Only reason I'm still running one though is because it was already installed in my intercooler piping before I made up my mind about BOV's usefulness.

The stock BOV is a Mitsubishi unit and is good to 25psi or so without crushing the diaphragm.

Crushing the diaphragm is an old DSM trick that affords more pressure on the seat of the valve allowing it to hold even more boost.

No real reason to change it other then the "sound factor".

^ again true.block off the quick release port and that biotch will hold just about any ammount of boost you can throw it.

Stock is best for most power levels you'll see... Tial and Apex are the best in my opinion if you have to "upgrade" for flow reasons

I guess I'm showing my age... but the sound of the stock one recirculated even drives me nuts to a degree for normal driving, but I guess that's what radios are for, ha. Just remember it's always going to make that noise with the louder ones... not just when you're pushing the car...

I got a greddy type S and i have to admit it is ONLY for the sound. i had an RS, and a stocker, and by far this one is the best. (most fun)

I'm just guessing here, but I believe this reputation is from the "old" style of the HKS with the bolt on the back.

People thought you needed to adjust it using this boltThis bolt should not be adjusted at all. If you try to adjust it, it will cause it to leak.Because of this poor design they redesigned it to remove the bolt.
