I went to the track today in my Stock 95 SE.

My best run was [email protected] with a 2.543 60ft. Which at sea level would be [email protected]

My other runs were:[email protected] (car was really hot)[email protected] (accidently launched at redline/up in smoke)[email protected]@[email protected]@[email protected]

Is that good for stock?

On another note, I raced an SI with Inatake, headers/exhaust and cam gears and smoked him with my 16.834 run, he only ran 17.13.

What do you think i'll run with Injen CAI, and Exhaust, and pullys? Hopefully be in the 15s?

David.

Well, at Sea level i'd be 16.2. Yeah, I hit 17s when I messed up and such. It's a manual. Remember that these times are not a sea level track. They'd all be in the 16s if it were. Also, this is PURE stock. Not one thing done to it. Stock air filter (not even k&n drop in). Also, my 3rd gear grinds so that might hurt it maybe .1 or so. If that...

Do you have all the options, leather, sunroof, ect? LSD? Just curious, haven't gone to a track yet, but I'm not really setting up my car for straight line power, although I am curious to see how it would perform. Nitrous is your best bang for the buck if you want power. Keep in mind that you can't ALWAYS use nitrous, for example, on an autocross track. But for straight lines, there is no better power gain for under a grand, and it is fairly reliable so long as it is set up properly and not abused. Not a bad run though, how long have you had the car for? Replace all your maintenace items first, plugs, filter, ect., and then worry about mods. Just getting maintenance aup to date might shave a couple tenths off your time, IMO.

No leather, no sunroof, Yes LSD. I think everything else is pretty much normal. I hate leather, and I don't really like sunroofs so it's great for me. It's odd that it has LSD though, some chick used to drive the car so it's like in perfect condition. I also weighed mine at the track and it was about 2720lb. That's with no spare tire everything else stock. I think you'd run similar times to me, maybe a bit slower or faster. I took an RSX at the track, Si, Prelude, etc. So I think for even drag racing you can't beat the 240s.

I got the car on monday, so far all I've done is the spark plugs and the fuel filter, i'm gonna see about my jacobs before I get any new ignition stuff. The engine has 117k on it.

yeah, I figure mine will be a little heavier than yours, but that is debateable. Leather is maybe 10-20 lbs more weight max, I actually did a manualy comparison (didn't have a scale big enough) at the time I did my leather swap. My car was the base model, so i probably have less toys inside than you, which might make up the difference in weight. My intake and exhaust also gave me maybe 5HP, but all in all, our rides are very similiar. No sunroof, although I smoke, so I'm probably going to get one. Our tastes are different, but goals are the same. 2700lbs isn't bad at all, around what I was thinking the car would weigh. How were you launches, reaction time?`If I get a chance to go to the track after I finish my suspension, I'll let you know. Thanks for the info.

When you race on a normal 3 amber light system the reaction does not matter. With my best run 16.782 my reaction was a 1.2, I was not trying to get a reaction, I usually get about a .5 when I do. I was just making sure I launched it correctly. I got a 2.543 60ft. and my 8th mile was [email protected]. I really want to get into the 15s now. Man I love this car. It looks pimpin, fast, etc. There is no downside.

I know this has been done to death before, but I have to say it. Those cars that you beat are capable of being faster, its probably driver error. Start with the Civic SI, I'm assuming its a 99 or 2000 and those with basic mods are low 15 or very high 14 sec cars. Also the RSX if its a Type S is a quick car thats itn the same class as the SI, when its stock. But I'm glad you beat them I beat a Type R once at the track with my Integra LS it made my day.

Yeah, our rides our dope!!!

Haven't had the pleasure of racing a civic si (siR our here). My buddy has one too, but he always chickens out last minute when I taunt him! I totally rape him off the line a couple times, maybe thats why he's a little paranoid. I drove the car a couple times, and it is definitely fast, will murder me on the highway for sure! He's got coil overs on her too, with a greddy cat back, thing handles grat and actually sounds nice (for a honda). I must admit, its a really nice car, probably my favorite honda. Only downfall is, when you sit inside, it still looks like a civic DX (or whatever the entry level civic in the US is).

I'd still take my 240 over that eco box any day. Ace is probably right about those hondas, but they would need a really good driver to pull off those numbers ace. A kill is a kill, and is even more satisfying when its a honda, good job!!!

Well, an Si is 'supposed' to do 15.7, which would be 16.22 at LACR. I rarely see a Si run in the 16s at all. Even with mods. For a car with no torque, to try to hook those front tires it's really tricky. I know they're 'supposed' to be faster, but they're not with 99% of the drivers who are driving them. And with basic mods low 15s high 14s? No way. I've been going to the track and seeing Sis forever. LACR is a popular track, there are tons of all types of ricers that race there. It would take some crazy mods to get a NA civic to run 14s. Hell, it takes a decent amount of mods to get one in the damn 15s. I know it 'seems' wrong. But that's what they run.

anybody ever heard of Beech Bend Raceway? its a pretty "famous" track here where i live. (bowling green KY). when i get my license i'm gonna go down there w/ a bunch of buddies and race. all of them have honda's except for one w/ a toyota. there's a '94 accord 4cyl VTEC 5speed, '92 civic 5 speed, no vtec (it sucks), a '96 auto integra LS w/ muffler and alot of ricey stuff, uhhh what else....maybe a '92 or '93 (not sure) NA MR2 5speed. by the time i go down there to race i'll have my exhaust most likely, and it'll be cooler outside, so i hope to run low 16's. if i run those kinda times, i'll be really really happy cause i'm an auto :( i know it sucks, but it was the first 240 identical to what i wanted that i saw in a long time, so i was like screw it, i'm gonna buy her. i paid 5500 for her w/ 113k miles. thats not TO bad i don't guess, considering it had EVERYTHING i wanted. i wanna get cams, header, maybe a small shot of NO2 sumtime in the future. like a 40 shot or sumthin close. i can't wait.

Tina, do you even have your license? If so, what car do you drive, cause I know its not a 240? How do I know? Not ONCE have you ever had any input on a 240, or any vehicle for that matter. Do you know anything about cars? I doubt it! So if you are going to sit here, and throw cheap shots at me, then fuk off man, you're not welcome. Go over to the infinti board and go look for dees, he'll set your 15 year old *** straight, punk!

Get a life, go surf pokemon sites or something kid, but don't bother us while we are trying to have an informative discussion, your one liners are pretty boring.

tina santana > :boxing <ME

WTF kinda name is tino, one of those uni sex names? Are you a guy or a girl? Look, this is not the time nor the place to start a flame battle, so go bother someone else little youngin'.

I'd really like to race my buddies civic just so I could know for myself what all the hype is about. Until then, I will still consider it a quick car. But i don't fear it.

Seriously dewd, I'm going to jump on the bandwagon here...

Tino, when you see a thread asking questions, then you quote one single line and say "COOL" or some s*** like that, ITS SO WORTHLESS DEWD, DONT EVEN TAKE THE TIME OR WASTE THE SPACE! Plus if you cant post any technical or informative remarks, then just read and be silent. I'm getting tired of reading real threads then getting to ur posts of:

yes, no, cool, i agree, whatever, shutup, ill kill you, etc etc etc.

do i have to describe my insult? I mean do you not understand what I am trying to say? Ok then, what i meant by "shutup" was that was a ridiculous phrase that someones little kid brother heard him say and is hooked on it. Therefore he keeps repeating it over and over till everyone gets sick of it and him however he doesn't stop and you start to hate him and beat the living sh*t out of him. hows that? Sounds to me hes been hanging around his fat honda civic girls again.

You know about girls Tina? Dewd, I though sex ed started in grade 6, did uncle Stew give it to your sister in front of you again? Poor kid! Hey, one day, your voice will get deeper, hair will grow in funny places, and that little pimple between your legs will erupt and grow to about 2". Then, my friend, you will see what the fat honda girls are good for.

Until then, keep your freaking mouth shut. I mean, I'm not the 240 genius or anything, but I like telling people what i think of thier car, what ever which way that may be. With a, "Sweet wheels", "Nice ride", or yes, even, "Pimpin'". And no, not everyone gets a "Pimpin'". And I'm sure a compliment means alot more from a fellow 240 owner, than it would from a 9 year old kid on a tricycle, I know I'm flattered when 240 owners tell me my ride looks, "Pimp".

I don't even know why I am wasting more space on Tina, just listen to Swift and keep your stupid little one liners to yourself. You're not helping anyone, and its getting really annoying. Please, just keep quiet, I think teletubbies may be on now, go watch it

Also i 2 havent seen you say anything informative at all in any of your posts. You need to retreat to the top of a mountain until you gain knowledge, and stop smoking DOPE

Tino all im trying to say is your one liners have the uncanny knack of suddenly changing the entire subject of a thread. Like the thread asking about lightening a 240, it suddenly turned into a bashing contest because you quoted how a 350z looks like a tt to you (im not even going there). Your measly little post got some people mad and it was a waste of space. It was TOTALLY IRRELEVANT to the actual topic of the thread. Now if say you had started a brand new thread on THAT CERTAIN subject, hey, good for you, thats the point of general chat, speak your mind :) Im just trying to say keep your posts relevant to the actual subject, that's all. I don't know your beef with pimpin and its none of my business and im not taking sides here or anything. I'm just stating my opinion, have a nice day.
