Multiple problems...If you have a manual and you don't need to press the clutch, you might have a car with a hafazz manual transmission swap. Or, you have a stuck or shorted neutral switch. Check the battery voltage when you have it running; you should have at least 14 volts across the terminals with a meter set on volts DC. If u just replaced the alternator and your battery goes dead, check the alternator first, and then the battery. You might have gotten a bad rebuilt, or bad junkyard alt, or improperly installed alternator. If u don't, check battery connections, including your ground wire. Turn off the car and mesure battery volts across the terminals. It shouldn't be less than about 10.5 min. Measure from the the positive terminal to a point on the chassis near the ground wire. I recommend the engine block. Your reading should be within .3 volts. Ohm the ground wire from the neg. battery terminal to the block. It should be almost zero. These checks are important because the battery terminals would've been removed to replace the alt. The other things to check for would be a drain or short. If you have an aftermarket stereo or other accessories, check to make sure they are not staying on after the ignition is turned off. I think I gave u enuf to think about for now. U know your car, do the work.
