The vinyl seat in my 510 smells like anus. It's the first thing I smell when I open the door.... and I don't even have to poke my head in the car. I used the Meguiars detailer but it didn't get the stink out *not a surprise*, it got the seat clean....er though.

So I'm thinking about using lysol. Ideas? Suggestions? etc...

New seat would help.

What about one of the Lexol or 303 aerospace products have you tried them?

Do you have bad gas?

Maybe the odor has sunk into the seat cushion?

lol

Its the rear bench seat, so it's not my anus.

And I don't want to recover of replace the seat, it's too awesome.

I once spilled orange juice on my back seat (240sx hatch) and let it sit in the sun for over eight hours. Pretty sure it was during the summer too. That ish sunk in to the cushion and stunk up everything. One of the worst smells EVAR. Heres what I tried:1: Wipe off remaining orange juice sludge and spray with car deodorant- didnt work.2: Spray with awesome (degreaser), clean with brush and spray with car deodorant- didnt work.3: Took the bottom part of my back seat out, hosed it down, washed with laundry detergent, awesome and a brush; let it sit in the sun until completely dry. WORKED.

I know it sounds kinda retarded and I'm not sure about the 510 seats but in the 240sx the bottom part of the back seat is all sponge. Anywho, hope this helps.

Goodluck!

At work we clean seats with a Shampoo machine. If you can, take the seats out (if they are cloth) spray them with a general purpose cleaner, hose them down, and scrub them. Or, just go to town on them with the Shampoo machine. if they are cloth they will not get ruined so do not worry.

If they are leather i'm not too sure on how to help you. I detail at a Cadillac dealership and its only a rare occasion some trades an old car without leather interior.

I left my passenger window down once on my S13 while at work and it started to rain throughout the day. After that day my interior smelled like someone had farted all over the inside of my car. I tried Fabreze and all it did was cover up the stench for a few days and it always came back, bro this smell was bad and embarrassing when I had passengers in the car. Finally I tried Lysol spray and went crazy with that s***, I drove around with the windows down to get the Lysol smell out of the car afterwards, it's never smelled again...Lysol works.
