I know I could email Stillen for this info...but I thought that it wouldbe good info to have on this forum if anyone knows the answers, maybe even Josh will chime in.

I removed the wing off my car cuz the body shop put it on like retards.I removed the tape from the car and the wing.

3 questions for you guys. There is no info for this on stillens site or the instructions that came with the wing....so maybe you guys havehad some experience.

1. Will it be bad to use goo gone to remove the leftover residueon the urethane wing? It's only on the unexposed area and shouldn'tbe seen.

2. Stillen says they use an adhesive promoter. I tried to find this ataround town and nobody knows what I'm talking about. So,What is adhesion promoter? Someone said just to use alchoholon the wing to make sure it's clean.

3. I wanna make sure this sticks and wont come up. I've heard someothers say that the corners keep coming up on theirs....so when Iattach it to the car should I prep the car in any way?

Any enlightenment you guys might have here would be much appreciated.

BTW, it took me about 3 hours to get the old tape off the wing. Whateverthey use at Stillen really sticks good

Yes, goo gone is fine to use.

Adhesion promoter it absolutely key to having the urethane hold correctly to the tape. You can order it here http://www.rshughes.com/produc...oogle

Clean the surface of the trunk well, with alcohol, to get the best contact

Goo gone is fine.. while it's a pain, taking the time to just rub off the 3M tape off the piece should suffice. We do recommend adhesion promoter, it does just that, promotes adhesion to the urethane piece.

Not sure of the brand name we use, but as you've no doubt found out, the tape we use for all of our urethane pieces means business, and does come preinstalled.

That being said, things happen, body shops don't always work it out, hit me up via email if you need some replacement tape, I can send that out tomorrow for you.

Just take your time, install the one side to the urethane piece, then remove the backing on the other side just enough on each side of each piece of the tape so it hangs out just beyond the part itself.

Get someone to help you, check and recheck as you're placing the piece, you can stick it down, then pull the edges of the backing to expose the rest of the tape as the piece remains installed where it should be.. you'll be good to go.

For those worried about lip spoilers, wings, etc staying secured.. this is why we use the tape we do.. but it does present a touch of a challenge to remove.. although not impossible. And the urethane piece is fine once it is removed.
