It is very hard for me to compare these Oil Cooler options because they don't provide direct numbers. Can someone let me know which is the superior product to install in my car, cost on these not being a real issue (we're talking maybe $50 range in cost difference between them):

Stillen Oil Cooler: Boast a temperature reduction of 30-40 degrees farenheit
Nismo Oil Cooler: States that it is 300% more efficient than the stock cooler
Z1 Full Flow Oil Cooler: Implies that other products to not provide what it does, that 100% of the Oil travels through the cooler before being supplied to the engine.

Z1 also offers a 'patch kit' that allows you to convert their oil cooler to a full flow. Would the ideal set up here be to pick up a Nismo/Stillen then upgrade them to full flow?

What I see most on heavy duty builds is the Stillen. Did some searching and haven't come up with any really concrete comparisons.

If it helps, my car is currently running somewhere around 400 HP at the crank (I believe a low estimate based on catback exhaust/test pipes/downpipes, UR pulley, Specialty Z Chip w/ Boost Jets, Single Air Intake). I will probably eventually get her around 500-600 HP when all is said and done and want to upgrade parts, where possible, only once.

Appreciate the help!

The Nismo is NLA as far as I know, so that's off the list.

The Stillen is a very good unit. Definitely enough for a street car.

The Z1 full flow unit uses an Earl's oil cooler, which is a high quality unit. Meaning, you could also piece that together your self for much less on Jeg's or Summit, and all you'd need to fab is the mounting plate.

Someone would need to do side by side pressure drop and temperature drop tests to find out which is best. If you're looking for an off-the-shelf solution, I'd go with the Stillen unit.

I have the Stillen unit and it also uses an Earl's oil cooler. (It has an Earls lable on it, part number: 41908A)

So yea the Stillen kit is a great off the shelf kit.

Also the packing is great you should be very satisfied. :bigthumb:

The Nismo is still available, but from what I gather the brackets were unavailable because Nismo discontinued the kit. CZP offers a custom bracket in their combo for it.

Ever heard of someone taking the Stillen and modifying it for Full Flow?

Looking at this guide on tt.net: http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/f ... stall.html

It seems like it can be done with any cooler, and the parts list seems to match up quite closely with an NA Stillen Oil Cooler kit.

I'm going to email Z1 and see what they have to say about it.
