The guys at Stillen are initiating a challenge. They are hosting a show on the West Coast the same day that Carlisle takes place on the East. They want to see how many NICO members they can get to check in their booth vs. ours in Carlisle. If I get a registration book, will everyone come by and sign it? I think we can beat them :dblthumb:

I will most definitely sign it! I may be completely wrong but based off who I've seen post regularly on Nico aren't there more members who live out west then on the east coast?
Edit: random question that has nothing to do with the thread but why are you locking old threads and making new ones, just out of curiosity? Is it to clear up clutter on Nico?

Not as much as you might think. We have a lot of members out west who don't go to shows and events. Seems like EVERYONE who lives on the East coast goes whenever they get a chance.

Some of the older threads are so large that they bog down the server when they load, refresh, etc. The original Learned'd is bigger than a lot of (complete) forums. Starting over allows things to flow more smoothly, use less power, and lowers the possibility of outages.

Makes sense, it's probably because the weather is bad 3/4 of the year and we eastcoasters love to get outside when the weathers nice! Can't wait for Carlisle, marks the end of my school year, great way to go out!

That's what I thought, makes sense. Not to be a downer but I don't understand the Learned'd thread, just make a huge chatroom....

It's not meant to be understood. :gapteeth: You have to be a part of it to get it.

Carlisle does have a lot more going for it. The two biggest reasons I would think are that it's a two day event and the next that you have Auto X.

But I've made every Stillen show I could since I've known about it and it just seems to get better and better. Not sure how many NICO members there will be but I doubt it will compare to Carlisle. I mean come on, you have guys traveling from Canada to go to your event :slap:

Plus, Carlisle draws more folks like me from roughly the middle of the country. Somehow I doubt the Stillen open house would get me to drive 9 or so hours to get there (not that it wont be interesting). I'll sign for sure, but I think Carlisle should win this easily.

I think NICOFest @ VIR would draw a larger group than Carlisle does, which is probably why Stillen is trying to say they can outperform us at Carlisle and not VIR.

Who counts as "attending" carlisle... The people who show up off our list of 225 or so people?
And who counts on Stillens end?

Things have changed, Carlisle 08 was nothing compared to 09.. and 09 with SURELY disappear in the shadow of 2010... And let it be known that the ALTI boys are the ones coming from the longest distances to Carlisle!

Yeah, but instead of racing you can drive your car in place on a dyno!

Hmm, this is kind of intriguing. I wonder how little horsepower my little Toyota makes when it's not in E-Prepared trim. It already has an astonishingly little pull to it as it is, I cant even recall how slow it is with it's stock powerband. Maybe I'll start a pool... I know quite a few folks in my region that would have a chuckle at a dyno sheet of my car, particularly some of the Factory Five guys.

Not sure about that one Brian. Greg , Bex, and our resident crossdressing, metrosexual (Tyler, if it wasnt super obvious) are coming from AZ. Not sure if we have any Altimas coming from that far.

Then you need to specify. I'd say Tyler will be one of the "longest distance traveled" winners. Greg and I are traveling 2,279.98 miles and Tyler is 3 hours further South of us.

Haha, J/K I haven't ever been to a meet. It took Ghostdrifter forever and a day to get me to visit him and that was only once, and it was cut short because of my friend. And I don't do too well with people I don't know. He had a whole mob with him on his birthday.

I'd much rather go to Carlisle, but you bastards are on the other side of the map for that!
