For the last 4 days I've attempted to install the front Stillen Sway bar and have had no luck getting the nut on the old sway bar loose. I've tried the car on jack stands, ramps, tried bolt buster and still no success. I'd hate to have someone do it for me because once I get the bolt loose its simple. Any suggestions or feedback would be appreciated, especially if anyone has installed these yet. Thanks

Is the nut stuck and not coming loose. or is in turnign within the bushing? If it's fixed then use an impact/breaker bar. If it's inside a bushing then use an impact and put pressure against the old bar againt the bolt. That way the bolt is binded and will keep it from turning.

The nut is stuck. I've been pulling as hard as I can at the nut and can't get it to move. What's an impact/breaker bar and where can I get it?

Impact gun, as in air compressor. For a breker bar you put the wrench on the nut then take a piece o fpipe an slide over the other end of the rench which gives you more leverage so less force does more force. Sure there isn't a cotter pin anywhere? Also try tightening a bit first the loosening.

Finally got them on. Took Me and five friends. We used a make shift breaker bar (end bar of the the jack lol) but it was a pain in the a$$, had to disconnect the the muffler from the pipes in order to put the rear one on. While we were at it I changed my headlights and fog lights. Look pretty sweet and much brighter so I can see better, esp with overlay on the headlights. I'll post some pics tonight.

Yea.. but I'm lowering it this weekend and putting my wheels back on next week, so hopefully next weekend I'll get some new pictures and post them up. Thanks

did you change your rear swaybar bushings?

the oem ones fit loose as chit around the stillen bar.. i changed them out today with energy suspension bushings while we had the car apart for springs / toe / camber kit

just thought i'd let you know if you were interested. stillen sway bar was about 22mm, can't remember what size the energy suspension bushing was, i'll check tomorrow to see if i still have the box and post the part number then

Left stock bushings, mine fit snuggly and didn't seem loose.

Is the factory bar hollow and the Stillen bar solid? Most aftermarket sway bars I've seen are larger in diameter than stock.

yup. the factory is hollow and stillen is solid, that was their reason for the stillen bar being smaller. but he said he didn't have that problem, so i'm not sure what's going on

Mines was bigger... lol and my bushing didn't fit loose like that. I think you should ask for new ones from stillen.

son of a bish. apparently stillen screwed something up and sent some people (me) the wrong bars. so, anyone buying these bars, don't go wasting your money on bushings
