ok, so i remember reading somewhere on one of the threads that the stillen's exhaust that is currently out for sale is an axleback, and not a cat-back..if so, does this take away from the sound it produces?

sorry if this is a dumb question in advance, i'm not too car savvy.

The Stillen Axel back that is currently out is for the 2.5 so you have nothing to worry about. The 3.5 version will be a cat-back.

To answer your original question. I'm not sure what the diameter is on the piping of the Stillen but if it's increased towards the muffler section and you have an unmatched diameter midpipe AND you upgrade the Y-Pipe in the future there could be a harm in the performance. Hardly anything to do with sound.

Can't forget about the resonator. The 2.5 has one and the 3.5 doesn't. The mid-pipe section on the Stillen Cat-Back will probably have a resonator built in.
