Hey there,

I just got an email from Margaret from STILLEN informing me that they came out with a rear sway bar. For anyone who didn't get the email here the information from her email:

~~

The specifications are below:

OEM Rear Sway Bar0.730" Thick - Hollow Bar - 1/8" Wall280 lbs. @ 1" Travel580 lbs. @ 2" Travel

STILLEN Rear Sway Bar0.750" Thick - Solid Bar320 lbs. @ 1" Travel = 14.3% Stiffer700 lbs. @ 2" Travel = 20.7% Stiffer

So basically when loaded, the STILLEN rear bar is 20% stiffer than OEM.

Part # is 304235cost: $150.75

~~

I asked them if they are coming out with a front sway bar as well, and the reply said that it would take a lot of time and excessive research and that there won't be a front sway bar anytime soon.

So now my question is, wouldn't having a rear sway bar only affect the balance of the car? Also, how much sense does it make to get this one together with the Eibach Pro-Kit instead of waiting for Eibach to release their own sway bars?

Just some thoughts, now please educate me

Sert,

According to another thread the Stillen Sway Bar was prototyped and fitted on their car which has Eibach Pro-lines on it ... So, the bar and springs should work together.

If I recall correctly, their test platform/car is a 2.5 A/C.

I believe (but, have not confirmed yet) that the OEM sway bars on the 2.5 and 3.5 are the same bar.

As for balance, that I can't answer. Something tells me that if you don't match a front and back set then there's a possibility that you may not like the result. I have only done matched sway bars in the past (with good luck), but, honestly don't know what the result would be.

The adjustment they made isn't crazy over stock like other adjustable out there, 20% is a mild number from what I've seen. I trust Stillen with mods not to be far from what Nismo would make. Not to mention you don't want to go to stiff otherwise you'll start getting over steer. I'm actually pretty eager to try it.

Honestly I think it's a big waste of money. Get the Eibach Pro Kit if you haven't yet-- you'll feel the performance difference there!

As an added bonus your car gets a more aggressive stance.

I have the Pro-Kit already, I wanted to get the sway bar in addition to the kit. But I would prefer sway bars for the front and back to make sure it doesn't somehow adversely affect the balance of the car. I'll ask Stillen what their thoughts are, obviously they wouldn't come out with it if it didn't make sense...

I just ordered the Stillen RSB. so when I get it, I will let y'all know how it rides. I'll be autocrossing my car so that's where it will really be tested.
