I just added a Stillen Gen 3 Cold Air-Intake and Stillen exhaust to my 370Z. It made a big difference in sound (lower growl), but not too loud. The intake is really noticable at 5000 rpms and HP is increased to 368 at the wheels.

332 base HP. The CAI added 17.5hp and the exhaust added 18.5hp. You can really tell a difference in the sound and performance. I also am about to add the illuminated kick plates and titanium shift knob.

That may well be the increases the manufacturers will say you get, however, in most than all cases those are best results, and do not go with every car. That is to say: they may be a bit much.

Secondly, there's a difference between rated HP (crank HP) and actual HP (wheel HP). All those moving parts, that put the engine's power on the road, make you lose some of it. With the Zs, it's between 14% - 17%.

I find it hard to believe that simple bolt on's just upped your net HP by near 10%....

Also note you're talking about crank HP, not wheel HP...as above mentioned, the HP at the crank is always going to be higher than your WHP becuase of drivetrain losses...

Yeah, what the other guys said. Not to be a jerk, but first of all, there's HP increase and there's Schtealin' HP increase. Also, you can't add parts together and get a net gain of the sum total.

Put it this way, a properly installed *AND TUNED* supercharger with an aftercooler only adds about 25% to the wheels.

Stillen (Schtealin') is well known for tall tales. They aren't a performance company, they're a marketing company and they're damn good at it.

The above post my well be accurate, but coming from my 370Z is a noticable difference since adding on the parts. The car is faster and sounds 100% better. Thanks for the feedback though. By the way what kind of cars do you guys drive?

Yeah, please don't think we're busting on you about it. I'm sure it sounds great and performs a lot better than it did when stock. The parts you chose are good pieces and give you a foundation to build on from there.

Oh, and Welcome to NICO!

I was flipping through this month's Modified Mag (the tuner shootout issue) and there is a full page ad for Stillen near the middle of the mag advertising a +50HP gain with (3) bolt-ons: Stillen exhaust, Stillen Gen3 intake and Stillen high flow cats. Independent verification was mentioned, someone can probably dig around on Stillen's site and find it if they really want to.
