Whats up Nicoclub! I want to get a sway bar. Which one do you guys think is better? The Racingline one has 2 different stiffness settings Stillen only has one. Thanks for any input!

I believe there's already a post about this. Racingline wins hands down. Still bars have snapped plus their "free shipping" policy is rubbish because they jack up the price to the point where shipping is included anyways. Only Stillen item I would buy is the LW pulley and maybe a lip if I ever get around to it. The stillen wing that I have was given to me btw.

Who's Stillen bar snapped? I have one and have been very aggressive with it with no issues.

^^

I've heard of the stillen bars breaking as well, I was going to be nice and not say that but oh well. I think Stillen is decent, but is way over priced. I will go with other products that are the same with like quality but at much less cost. Racingline actually does a lot more thorough R&D for their stuff in my opinion.

I've never heard of any of our bars snapping. In fact, because the factory bars snap so often, people choose our bars not only because performance increases, but they also buy it out of a safety concern.

We also do not jack up any prices in order to offer some sort of fake free shipping. I've seen the numbers myself as far as how much it costs for us to make our parts, how much we sell it for and how much we pay so you can have free shipping. Trust me, we're not fudging the prices.

Sorry if you've had a bad experience with Stillen. Did you take it up with your sales rep or anyone else here?

This.

My first time hearing of the Stillen sway bar snapping.

However, I can link you guys to many many people who have had broken Racingline endlinks. Also the front strut bar was incompatible with BC coils.

The Racingline swaybar is more beefy, but their overall track record is terrible.

Stillen fo life :chuckle:

I also wouldnt go so far as to say that Racingline has a horrible track record though. Everyone has different experiences, mine have been nothing less than stellar with Racingline. Quality products and outstanding customer service, even during their move.

Someone needs to find that thread...

I'm just a bit surprised at hearing of Stillen breaking issues... What was the sourcse?

The only Nico threads I've seen have been about Racingling snapping.

I'm sure Racingline customer service is top notch, but the history of the parts themselves must speak for quality.

There's no reason that our bar would snap in normal use unless the car was in a crash or something. We have an employee here who has an '09 Altima coupe 2.5 with our intake, Eibach Pro Kit and our rear sway bar and he loves each product-including the sway bar. He took me driving in his car the other day and it's impressive to see how much of a difference I could feel in the overall ride/quality of the car. I think it says something that our staff here trusts our parts enough to use them on their own cars :)

If you are going to base an entire company's rep on what gets posted in here then you are going to get a bad representation. NICO does not encompass the world, just a very small portion of it. Ive met people in my area that are die hard Nissan/Datsun heads and they had never heard of NICO until I asked if they were members.

Since it seems that the biggest problem product posted about from RL is the end links (not the part originally posted about in this thread), lets change gears again and talk about the Stillen fascia issues?

post6130502.html?hilit=stillen fascia#p6130502

Racingline claims to have fixed the end link issue, so does Stillen with the fascia issue. Clean slate? I think so.

BTW not trying to pick a fight here, just enjoying some debate during my lunch break.

I have the RacingLine strut bar, traction rods, front and rear endlinks and the only issue I've had is my right rear endlink coming unscrewed and a portion of it flying off. It DID NOT break, it simply came undone and flew off. However RacingLine was quick to answer my e-mails and shipped me the replacement part pretty quickly. I think both Stillen and RacingLine are top notch companies.

And to alphapig... That photo you posted looks exactly how mine did but the rear. That is not a break, simply it coming undone.

Thats what I was getting at. Racingline gears their product specifically for the Nissan community, and I think it should be appreciated. And Stillen also supports us greatly as well.

This is going to be a good one :naughty: .
I've been buying racingline since the first purchase, with most cases, people having problems usually comes down to how it was installed and if the setup is done right but sometimes there's flaws in parts, not a design problem but supplier possibly missing quality control until caught. It happens all the time. I am pretty sure you can use the BC coilovers with their strut bar, you just have to tell them you have coilovers and you will get a changed one or modified parts to make it happen. I'm not looking to start any trouble :poke: , but I will buy everything from racingline before anything else as i love their stuff.

Someone want to explain how exactly the sway bar improves the ride? and does it replace anything? I mean is it like an add-on or just a part that is better than OEM?

Sorry another noob question but u guys are used to me now.

Replaces OEM sway bar. Stiffer then OEM.

To elaborate ;) , a sway bar is used to help reduce the sway, or the left and right leaning feel you get when taking corners. OEM bars are often times hollow and thin, which causes them to bend. Aftermarket ones like the Stillen or Racingline are thicker/solid, so they bend less. This in turn causes less of that sway, or leaning feel. The car will feel more flat through corners, increasing your cars' ability to drive quickly and safely.

I'm also not trying to start any trouble and I know that Stillen has history but I just thought I put my 2 cents in and answer the question that was presented. All you have to do is put Stillen Swaybar Snap in google and something should come up. Stillen makes some very nice products (lip & pulley) don't get me wrong and I will purchase those things when the time arises, but regarding the swaybar, I'm going with Racingline, respect to Stillen though and my apologies for the very blunt and lack of professionalism in my response.

No fights being picked, and I do believe I was on topic. Racingline suspension products have failed, and Stillen have not. Is the slate clean? Sure. But still quite relevant.

In choosing suspension mods the track records matters. I realize Nico isn't the end-all. I am very interested in the Stillen sway bar snapping issue, which hasn't been supported yet. And I defend Stillen despite being the first to fix the fascia sag and ultimately selling it.

So, in my opinion, Stillen RSB > Racingline RSB

Is it pointless to get a front/rear sway and/or strut bar if your car isn't lowered? I would imagine they are like helping mods for a lowered car, otherwise its pointless.

Correct me if I'm wrong here.

I just did this, and granted I didn't read every thread from every forum, but the only thing I found were people saying, "hey, I heard someone snapped a Stillen bar", if they weren't saying that they liked the bar. I also searched images and found nothing relating. Not to say that that's impossible, but even if a bar is snapped, it is extreeemely unlikey-especially under normal driving conditions that 99% of all these bars are being used for. My very first sale here was a front/rear sway bar set for a 350Z strictly for track purposes-and he loves the bars. No breaking. And not to say that it's completely impossible for a product to fail, that there is no actual chance obviously isn't true...but seriously. For anyones aftermarket bar to break would be extremely difficult. If you have a link or something I'd be more than happy to address that :)

You're wrong, lol. Adding sway bars to a stock suspension car will still dramatically increase your cars' cornering abilities. I had front and rear bars on my car for several years and I wasn't lowered 'til about...6 months ago. It's worth it whether you are lowered or have a STB or not.

Ive never heard of a RL lowering spring set, strut tower, rear sway bar, or traction rod kit failing. All Im saying is that you cant swear off or slander an entire product line because of 1 bad product. If we did that, we couldnt drive Nissan as a result of the Murano Cabriolet. How many sets of Eibach springs have we seen broken in the past year? Not going to write them off completely, right?

Compare Stillen RSB with the alleged bad press (which Im still waiting to see myself) to "Jane" rumored having herpes, and the RL RSB to "Sue" who never has been rumored to have herpes but might be a prude on some occasions (end links). Im taking my chances with the prude.

Glad to be wrong about this since I wont be lowering my car anytime soon. What would you recommend get first, the sway or the struts? I'm gonna be throwing on some wider tires (225/40/18s) but of course thats not gonna do much at all.

Haha no I was just waiting for this to get good! Not to start anything, but the Stillen guys, I know you're trying to support the brand you originally chose, but have an open mind guys...Anyways I've had great experience with both companies however I think the Racingline RSB is more what I am looking for, from what I've heard it's better for the track handling wise..

Well, you got feedback on both products. However, at the end of the day you're the one driving it sooo yea. I wouldn't say they were bashing tho, just a friendly debate imo. :yesnod
