Is there a post on installing the Stillen intake and z tube?

I am trying to decide whether to install it myself or have a shop do it. Anyone have any thoughts or tips on the process?

Thanks,Dan

Welcome to NICO!

The intake from Stillen is super easy install!!!! It will take you 20min tops. Just be careful with your MAF sensor (don't drop it or stick something inside).

Thanks. Mechanically I don't think I'll have a problem, but sometimes there are tips or tricks that make even simple installations even easier.

I don't have the Stillen one...the only difference between the Stillen and JWT is the heat shield. The install is very straightforward. Are you doing a spacer as well?

I didn't get the spacer. I don't really want to do many mods to the engine, but wanted to bump it over 300 hp and get the better intake sound. I'll probably be eating these words soon.

I have the JWT and love it...I'm like you, not into engine mods so I passed on the spacer, just wanted over 300hp...but the sound is addicting so now I'm considering exhaust...because the sound on the intake is only good when you're in the gas, where exhaust is good all the time! Damn the mod bug...which one of you members gave me the mod bug and did you know you were contagious?

I think so...it seems a lot of the members here praise the Stillen systems. If and when I do buy exhaust it will have to be a true dual exhaust with tips on both sides of the rear end.

Well that took a little longer than 20 mins. Sounds pretty good now.

So what's next?

Headers should only take 8-hours...it took me 3 days on my LT1!!! But you got'r done!

The next mods are up to you, but I'd go with the following:

Intake: MREV2 and Plenum spacerExhaust: Cat-back, headers

or you can go bigtime with FI...
