ok. so, my hood dampers came in this past sat. so i tried installing, but i realized that i didn't have any wrenches. so i went out and bought those. then i started installing and the screw that holds down the bracket wasn't long enough, so i had to go out and buy longer screws. and now, i was finally going to put them in, but now the socket ends don't fit into the brackets!!!! am i retarded or something? or is this a problem other have had? i've tried searching, but this has not come up. do i have to remove the pins first? then put them back in afterwards? but then why would they come installed already?!?!

Yes you need to remove those pins with a C shape attached to them...

Install the brackets first, then put the damper onto the ball joints, then install the pins as the last step.

the pins are there so that afterward you can secure the dampers to the balljoints without any risk of them poping out

right, but they came already installed in the socket. lol. i got a new problem. the brackets are in, but the sockets don't match up with the brackets. the one socket goes past the bracket about 1/2 inch. WHAT DO I DO? lol. i'm such a noob. i can't even install hood dampers.

Push the hood open a bit, it should fit.
