ehh i dunno if painting a front bumper is a good idea for a DIY. especially with a lot of colors requiring mixing to get it to match the rest of the car.... some colors are obviously easier than others, i.e. black but definetly not white.Ricko wrote:After Buying the bumper and mesh inserts from stillen it was about 617.23, something like that. And i picked it up so thats not including shipping. I am having the auto body paint it and install it. Apparently the instructions say you need to slice the foam behind the bumper and i needed to get 2 more screws because the stock ones to bolt the two pieces together where too short. They are going to also paint it as two pieces and install it for me, i have not got the price from them yet but they said they would give me a good price.
I am guessing about 300, so its about 1000 bucks after shipping and paint and installation total.
If your a true car buff and have a lot of experience working on it, and are not afraid of messing anything up then by all means DIY man. Saves you a couple bucks. I am only 19 and this is my first actual "New" car (that I did buy on my own, no parents involved)
To install properly, it will take a bit longer.( i understand that 10 minutes was sarcasm) But trimming the foam piece behind the bumper is a b****toxik wrote:i think its like 300 to paint.... and installation? dude its a bumper.... takes 10 minutes to "install"
but pay someone to do it?.... shops are as bad as stealerships, probably charge you a $100 to install.Bmore-coupe wrote:

i knooooow. thats exactly what im saying.i want some quality work, good stuff being done to it, but i dont want to pay $130 for the pieces then $200-400 JUST to pain and another $100-300 JUST to install it. i think thats a bit ridiculous...or am i just being cheap?LongBeachCoupe wrote:My shop in hicksville will paint it for $350 i believe, and will install it free. Theres all sorts of bad paintshops you can get stuff done at.
Make sure its a trusted place that does quality work.
that was sarcasm...besides i seen the window spoiler for $125 online, which is a pretty good price. and it wasnt no "bootleg" webiste as well.LongBeachCoupe wrote:TheBoyDiddy... your post doesnt make sense.. theres no $130 part that costs $200+ to paint and $100+ to install.
