Does anyone know or better yet can any get the dimensions of the mufflers used on Stillen's Exhaust kit for the Coupe?

Thanks in advance.

Also, tell me what you guys think:

Go with a Borla Pro XS 40477 transverse mufflerhttp://www.borla.com/proxs/pages/muflrtrans.php

Or

Go with dual MagnaFlow 14829 Mufflershttp://www.magnaflow.com/02pro...d=767

I mean which would have a better benefit on the 2.5l?

What sort of measurements are you looking for? The size of the muffler? The tips? more info please I'll gladly go outside and take a look.

Yes, that is what I am looking for. I was curious if the Magnaflows I linked above would be a comparable size.

BTW, thanks SC!

Ok...so the Magnaflow listed originally probably wouldn't work because of tip length....so I am looking at this. http://www.magnaflow.com/02pro...d=766

I am still torn as to which route to go...I've had both Magnaflow and Borla before on previous cars and I like both. What do you guys think would sound better?

<Random Thought> I am post whoring my own thread...nice! </Random Thought>

Anyways, thought I would let you guys know...I have purchased 2 magnaflow 14814's (same size as the Stillen Mufflers) and will be taking the coupe to get some custom piping done on friday. I will see what I can do about pics and vids of the install afterwards...as long as it looks and sounds good. Total cost is going to be $435 for a custom catback setup!

Do a search on Ebay for...magnaflow 14814, you'll get a better deal than I did.

Cheapest is 121 a piece...although I bought from Clear Lake Automotive (on Ebay) and paid a little more because they were local and could guarantee that I would have them before Friday (got the inch because of my tax return). Every one else on the web drop ships direct from Magnaflow. Just find you a good shop to do the Pipe work and you shouldn't spend more than $150 (what I am paying) for the cat back to be done....

In any case I'll report back on Friday...

As far as the piping from the cat...i plan on leaving that up to the guys at the Exhaust shop. You know what ever is best in their opinion. I do however plan on removing the resonator. I'll let you guys know what size i go with after it's done. BTW I should have the Mufflers in hand this afternoon.

DEEP IN THE HEART OF TEXASSSSSS...ok so im eyeballing thesemagnaflow 14814's.... Just so i know what im getting into... ill need to buy 2 of them... and then the rest would just be custom piping at an exhaust shop?

I just got a $99 quote from a local shop on the magnaflow 14814'sId need 2 of them... and then custom piping right? I think i can get the piping done for $150... bringing it to $350...

I called my nissan tech to find out if he had a shop to hook me up with the exhaust piping.. and he says "dude get the nismo one" i say "im on a budget man" and he tells me someone ordered one to the shop and they made a mistake... its for a 2.5 and he had a 3.5.... he will check what he can give it to me for... he thinks $500 will be the price!

and ofcourse a free install.. i cant wait to hear... bottom line... im getting an exhaust..

$99 to install or $99 per muffler? If it's per muffler go for it...that is an awesome deal!And...You are correct 2x14814's and Custom Piping. I am taking pictures of the Stillen kit with me to see what my local guy says...

I thought about having my exhaust customized but when I looked up prices for the mufflers then adding the labor costs....I broke down and spent $650 on the Stillen cat-back

$650 plus delivery and installation... what was it all in? If i get the 2 magnaflows for $200 total... i can get the rest custom for obviously less than 400.... right? I mean if you didnt see the mufflers for that cheap, it could increase the price.. but i think theres plenty of room to make one custom for well under 650... ill have word on how much i can get this nismo for the 2.5 tomorrow... my boy says it shouldnt be more than 500... then i have some tough decisions to make while i wait for the sway bar GB to start

The last time I had a custom exhaust done on my 02 SpecV, I had to go back to the place 2-3x to touch up some leaks. It got to be a pain in the *** imo So I just said eff it, and forked up $712, to be exact, and ordered a true cat-back Good luck bro! PS-I was trying to be a cheal azz too

So whats the real difference? Either way you are either gonna have clamps or welds to complete the install..."true cat back" or Custom. It's really all gonna be the same.

I am gonna see if the local shop will let me take pictures and / or take some video.

Also, my local dealer that I bought the magnaflows from eff'd me...she said they had one on the shelf (which i have received already) and one in the warehouse. Just so happens that her idea of warehouse is having the muffler ship direct from Magnaflow. So my Friday install might be off until Saturday (hopefully sooner)! BASTAGES!!!
