First, thank you to Everything G35 for a speedy delivery and excellent price!!

It's sitting in my living room in 2 large boxes...here's the dilemma:

Do I install it myself? Shouldn't be that difficult, just have to deal with the 100+ temps and lying on my back in my garage.

Or....

Have my local auto-shop do it for $60-90...

what do you guys think?

Hey Joe! Congrats on the Stillen Exhaust!!! I'm talking to the guys at everythingg35 right now to work out the details of my new stillen exhaust... they're giving me a great deal and they're local so I can save on shipping and pick it up myself in Scottsdale...

I'm by no means a mechanic, but I'm going to install my stillen myself... I've talked to a couple guys (including my brother) who have installed catback exhausts themselves and they said it was pretty easy (Bolt off/Bolt on)...

The key is making sure you properly and SECURELY jack your car up... I would recommend jack stands and possibly a "creeper" to help you get in and out from under the car... a "partner" would also be advised so as to help you with any tools and it always is better to have another brain in the mix... not to mention, you're going to want to show it off to someone when you get it installed! My vote is to do it yourself... you know that if you run into any issues, you've got the smartest and most helpful group of guys on this forum who will be willing to walk you through it! GO TEAM NICO!

i understand Joe , i live in GA also ... and i had to change my oil ..

dont know if it was me that was cooking or was it some "cool" oil that was on my hands..

Id install it myself , if you feel safe lol , if you have buddies at performance shops, they might let you use their LIFT ... ( it makes everything 50% easier

I've got everything except a lift in the garage...I've done a cat-back on a 97 Firebird...but that was using a lift. (I really miss the auto hobby shop...)

I know I can do the work...it just a matter of being lazy I guess...and it's soooo friggen hot out.

WOOHOO!!! Woot Woot...Finally!!

Stop whining...grab a cold beer or two, grab the tools and hop to it! LOL

You gotta let me know how you like it after it's in...it is pretty straightforward... a few nuts and bolts and away you go!

C'mon you can do it, we can help. Home depot.

I don't know when it's too hot it kills me too. Why don't you do it in the morning when the heat is not on yet. Well not much anyways. I love doing mods. I just don't like regular stuff like oil change.

Well I could lie and say that I got home and put on the exhaust....but the wife had a painting project for me instead lol.

I did however, put it up on stands and ran my creeper underneath...not my idea of fun, so I decided to take it to a place. The G's at my local auto shop right now, getting the exhaust put on

My next house WILL have a lift in the garage!!

I should pick it up at lunch!

Wow! Very cool sound! It's not overpowering like my LT1 flowmaster was. I really like it

No droning sound at highway speeds, excellent low rpm sound. The MREV2 and Popcharger are louder at WOT.

She felt a bit peppy at low RPMs too, I wonder how much extra HP the complete intake/exhaust system gained?

You guys need to get a CAT-back!!!

GO JOE!

I'm so excited for you that you like it! Although, Green with Envy that I don't have one yet

Now I just have to convince the wife that it will be a good buy! We have the money, but it's just prying it from her thrifty hands thats the tricky part... I may have to take a poll on here to gather the best excuses from you guys to convince "better halfs" of these mod costs... any suggestions?

CONGRATS JOE!

I thought I was excited for the JWT Pop Charger/Z tube to arrive, I CANNOT IMAGINE the excitement you're feeling!

Great job man.

And by the way...my damn neighbor just got his lift...superlifts.com...He has the one where you park one car under and have one on the lift...But he's got some rides...a 2007 BMW M3an Audi A6, slightly oldera Porsche 911, late 90'sa new Acura TLand of course...an AC Cobra (a real one)

But he's got the checkered garage floor, Ferrari and Pirelli advertisement lights and posters, the works.

So now I really have the car lift bug! After we move to Houston I guess I'll be working on the wife for one!

Anyway, congrats again Joe!
