I have wondered for a short period of time now if anyone has installed an engine damper.

here is an image i found on the wed of a stillen engine damper installed on a Z32

there are many aftermarket dampers available for a fraction of the cost of the stillen engine damper. Only problem is you would have to fabricate mounts for the damper itself.

my question is has anyone done this and if so do you have any pictures of it installed?

I found this damper on ebay for $29

vs. the stillen engine damper that is $148

if there are no responses I will fabricate some mounts and put it on and make a few additional mounts to sell to those who are interested.

I can't imagine the eBay one would be too bad. My idea on eBay, is

1. If there are too many moving parts..... don't buy it from eBay
2. If the part fails, does something go terribly wrong.. don't buy it from eBay

I have heard good things about the stillen damper but never heard or seen anything about other engine dampers. The one I ordered is for a Z33 and it comes with some hardware and mounting brackets all for $29. So unless the mounts cost over $100 (which they won't even come close to) to make, this is a great alternative. I will post a thread dedicated to the damper installation and modifications once I get it installed and tested. :mike

I'm interested to see what you get done here, 30 bucks and a few hours of fab seems like a fun and reasonable project if it works and looks good.
