ok guys i would really appreciate everyone's input on this one.
so i have to take my bumper back to the body shop to be repainted, i found on the lower part of the bumper the paint began cracking. so the situation is, I'm thinking about asking my shop to cut off the center "bars" in the middle of the lower fascia,
I've never liked them & see them as rather "tacky". only thing I've ever really disliked about the stillen bumper, anyways just wondering do you think the bottom center would sag? or could i do something to prevent it from sagging, if it would?
i photo-shopped some pics so you guys could see the difference (not the best work, but bare with me) to me it looks like a whole different car! personally i love it, but wanna know what you guys think???

when its all black on that bottom portion (along w/ black radiator or mesh), u can barely tell theres 2 small columns down there...

on the other hand, the 3M adhesive holds those 2 columns up, i dont think u'd have a prob w/ the top half that goes around the impact beam, but that middle on the bottom might sag a bit. plus its supposed to support the mudflap/engineflap protector thing on the bottom, and if there isnt anything there, it may flail a bit w/o proper support.

my 0.02 :)

IF I were you, I wouldn't cut them out. They are there for a reason: SUPPORT! Have the shop paint them black and you won't even notice them! Trust Us!

BTW..Mattv609 has a set of springs for a 3.5. PM him and work out a deal. Maybe you can get that and the Y-pipe! :chuckle:

I've actually never noticed those. I'd say trust dangeris. It does look like they are there solely for support. Just paint them black.

Hussain - painting the radiator black wont mess it up or anything? & did u have a body shop paint it or did u spay can it at home?

Dangerous - i hope ur not talking about me with the springs comment, i already have em on my car theres not much lower i can go... :tisk: lol

also Srwong - i bought the bumper off of someone else & it didnt come with the mesh, but i didnt really mind since ive never really been a fan of it anyways...

well see... im supposed to recieve my header 2morro so when i install that this weekend im goin to take of the fascia & see if maybe i can maybe run some type of light but sturdy metal along the bottom & maybe up around the fog spaces, or maybe pvc?! just an idea i got 2day, if not then ill probably just paint them black along with the radiator (assuming it wont cause any problems?)

I just sprayed my radiator with some black spray paint from Kragens... its been on there for about a year and I've never had any issues with the car over heating or anything so it doesnt affect it.

well see... i got a "vision" 2day im gonna wait till i take off the bumper this weekend, im thinking mini roll cage using pvc?! lol for the support, or maybe running something straight through the bottom so the entire bottom is stiff so there wont be the problem of sagging... if nothing works then ill paint em

I really think you should just paint them. BUT if you insist. go to Lowes and get a piece of metal like the one people use to fix the fascia sag. drill into that bad body and nothing will ever sag lol
