Have a 2007 G35x...great car. No issues to report and you are all full of good info. SO, my question is, will the Stillen cat back single tip system have excessive noise at a constant highway speed? I spend the majority of time at 3200-3600rpm at a fast highway cruise, often for a couple of hours at a time. I am concerned that the exhaust will be to loud and drive me insane after about an hour.

Can anyone comment on this who has the stillen system and spends highway time?

Thank you in advance.

Its louder than stock, but not annoyingly so. The drone is kept to a minimum.

If you're worried about annoying exhaust noise, then it may not be right for you. I can't speak for the G35 exhaust systems because I'm too poor to buy one, but from previous experience with other loud exhausts, you have to like the sound and also don't expect to sneak up behind anyone with your car.

When my wife and I were going out, she could hear my I30 about 1/4 mile away on a different street in her housing development. Her dogs even came to the door to great me because they knew who was there and all I had was free flowing muffler.

Thanks for the reply everyone. Well, i guess I just buy the plenum spacer and nav bypass module and call it even. I'm open to other mods that don't make it sound like a street racer if you have suggestions.

Thanks

The Stillen is actually one of the more quiet aftermarket exhaust systems you'll find. Its not until you get on it that it starts to make a roar.

How fast do you normally cruise?

The Stillen exhaust is the most unusual after-market sounding exhaust I have ever heard. It is more quite than the OEM exhaust and much louder than the OEM exhaust, at the same time. It is almost silent in sixth gear, while cruising. It is a monster in 3rd and 4th gear under WOT. What is not to like about the Stillen exhaust?

It is the most beautiful exhaust sound out there, and when it is loud, drivers in fron of you can hear you coming. And driver's by your side get scared, when you press the accelerator because suddenly, your car goes form ultra quiet to ultra noisy and loud. Unbeleiveable and wonderful! Buy it if you can!

i usually cruise at 80-85 mph (3200-3500 rpm) on highway. I drive like an old man on back roads with the occasional run through 2nd-3rd. I'm on bluetooth all day (work) and am just a little concerned about to much noise at cruise. If it just gets loud when I mash it...thats fun. Just dont want it all the time. I've had those before...I'm not 18 anymore. 37yrs old, suit wearing, financial sales, with client in car at times.

At 80-85 I dont think you have much to worry about with too loud of a drone. If you were going about 90-95 then i think you'd have drone annoyance.

Who drives enough long distance (besides me) to back me up on this one?
